I believe normal comforter weight not excedeed to 5kg.

It is not the weight. But the size.

How big the drum size of 10kg? How big the drum of 13kg?

My queen size comforter just enough to squeeze into the 12kg drum. If king size, don't think can fit in at all.

Than can the comforter wash clean enough? Since it so tight inside the drum.

Yes i agreed 13kg is more than 10.5kg. But, it does not mean that 10.5kg is too small. 13kg or 10.5kg is not only dependent in drum size, but also capability of each washer dryer. If u notice drum size of each model is not same eventhough capacity is same. It is about technology.

If u dont mind what is your lg combo model n price?

The comforter has filling and is rolled up like how farmers in US midwestern rolls up hay before loading into the washing machine.

Queen size comforters usually 70"*70" whilst king size is 90"*70". The drum size and the tub mouth opening width determines if this can be put in or not.

Hence top loaders naturally makes better choice in loading these sizes. If washing at the laundromat, usually they recommend using an XL washer. XL because of the larger then usual tub mouth opening diameter. As seen here.

Comforter/ quilt / duvet cover is the cotton cloth that is used to cover over the comforter. Most comforter here by right cannot remove cover, hence this cloth covers over much like how pillow case is used over pillows.

Which brings me back to my point above that our weather here suffice sleeping in just with the cover alone. If just using that, even a 5.5-6kg washer can wash even king sized.

"My queen size comforter just enough to squeeze into the 12kg drum. If king size, don't think can fit in at all."

Can you understand what am I write ?

I already use this LG combo WD-CD1212W for 8yrs. That is the size of the comforter it can fit in.

If the 12kg queen size "just" enough to squeeze in and the drum is pretty full, can a 10.5kg squeeze in ?

If the 10.5kg drum is about the same size as 12kg, what does the 10.5kg capacity mean?

People intend to put more cloth inside as long as the drum fit. Nobody will weight the cloth before throw into the drum. How the manufacturing makesure you not overload the capacity.

I only can give you my LG combo experience.

Try to get a measurement tape and check the drum size which brand is the biggest for the capacity you're looking.

I notice that Top loader drum size is bigger than the Front loader. It is because the vertical drive and horizontal drive force is different.

Actually if the drum size is 12kg or 10kg, it not really that size. Depend the design of the brand.

Have you notice that inside the drum have a few fin divide equal at the drum wall. This fin take away some capacity of the drum.

My LG combo the drum fin is pretty big size. Hence why the queen size comforter is "just" enough to fit in.

I m not sure do others brand have this fin inside the drum.

Another problem when you too compact the comforter inside the drum, can the water and detergent able to absorb into the fabric fast. Can the dirt be able to flow out? Can the washing efficiency wash ?

The discontinued LG CD1212W had the following dimensions:
(WxDxH,mm) 635 x 720 x 925

That qualifies it as an XL front load to wash a Queen size comforter.

Standard FL washer dimensions typically are 600 x 600 x 850

All FL have that fins. The last point you mentioned is the most crucial of all. Do laundry balls like those Korean magic balls help?

If you talk about washing the comforter, the drum already no space for it. Don't think you can squeeze the magic ball in.

Even you able to put the ball in, it just stay there and can't move around. Where got space for it to roll around?

The magic ball is a gimmick. Normally they will tell you use with hot water will be very effective. It is not true. Actually only the hot water is enough effective without the ball.

I do have some ball for the drying. The ball have spike and it create a space inside the fabric when tumbler. Help the drying process faster.

But I didn't try to compare it.

I choose this model because

1) it is the minimum size that able to wash queen size comforter.
2) it have Duvet function. Which tell me it have the prg to wash heavy thing.
3) I can't afford to buy a larger size. Combo is expensive. But cheaper than separate type.

Regarding choosing the LG brand reliable, It is the most use and prefer WM in US. I cannot find any data in local.

Since it last for 8yrs and still using, my ROI is already return.

Indeed LG is a good brand and to have lasted so long it's a good thing. I know of a friend who's elderly couple parents uses Tromme 10.5/6kg washer dryer. Very quiet and it suits their purpose now that there's no maid and all the kids grown up and flew the coop.

Another convince me about LG WM is my friend. He have this TL for 11yrs and running. The only thing spoil is the inlet valve. Cost RM120 for the part and DIY.

Actually I m sceptical about Korean product. But since the US consumer is happy with it, so try lor.

1 thing bad about this WM is the door rubber seal. It retain the water and overtime accumulate dirt and mold. Need frequent wipe it dry and clean.

I have a 11kg LG direct drive top load washing machine and a electrolux 7kg dryer. Works wonders and doesnt take up much spendings on electricity.
Don't buy a combo washer and dryer. If one function fails, the entire thing is useless until you repair it.

I bought Electrolux EWW 12842 model. Got it for 2.7k from One Living (cheapest out of all the shops).
For a single person I think its ok but for family I think better you get separate washer and dryer.

Do you reli need a dryer tho? It can be quite expensive to run.

Any, depends your environment if to put heat pump or condenser or classic vented one. Cheapest is vented but has to be located at open area, the other two can be indoor.
