QUOTE(Drian @ Jun 3 2012, 01:37 AM) Dryer can never be eco firendly..., in fact they use up lots of electricity. Even more than air conditioning. Latest cloth dryer today come with heat pump technology. For simple explanation on heat pump dryer that is more eco friendly can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clothes_dryer#Heat_pump_dryers. Of course the more natural & most eco freindly still the SUN BATHING is the best.. |

Ya. I am still shopping around. How good is this BEKO?
Google arond found this: http://www.beko.ie/Appliances/Laundry http://urbanez.com.my/OurProducts.asp?cid=18 Looks promising technology for its laundry. How is the support here? Anyone have experience to tell? I still prefer European brand rather than Asian brand for the laundry. This post has been edited by Yaphong01: Jun 3 2012, 01:19 PM |

That was a mixed review on that specific BEKO model. Regards the AFTER-SALE-SERVICE of any goods we bought (as an example) doesn't matter it range from audio/video, furniture, automobile, handphone, personal computer, home appliances & kitchen appliances is very much depends on the service provide by the importer & the sole distributor of the specific country. The appointed distributor should be more responsive to get BEKO to take action. Check more in-depth in that particular site review, not only BEKO got the condemn but other much popular brand like MIELE, LG, MAYTAG, BOSCH, AEG and many more also been condemned. So, how genuine are those complaints, we really don't know??? We understand that BEKO and many other brand (the original manufacturer) will require their appointed distributor to carry the after-sale-service duty for their responsible country or region. Here in Malaysia, the after-sale-service & products distribution is in-charge by Pacifica Appliances (link is here to their website http://pacifica.my/). As we already knew of their good reputation and fast responsive after-sale-service from Pacifica Appliances that carry a few brand like PACIFIC, PACIFICA, PHI, ZEPHYR, BEKO, BERTAZZONI, BAUMATIC and others. Pacifica Appliances appearance in the market is more than 15 years specialised in all household products. BEKO is a good brand regards to the white-goods quality and popularity that have the market status equivalent to other European player like BOSCH, SIEMEN, MIELE, ELECTROLUX, FAGOR, INDECIT, MAYTAG just to named a fews. BEKO appearance in Malaysia do give Malaysia white-goods consumer market another alternative to have a good European quality products but with the relevant ASIAN brand pricing. Majority of our customers that already bought the BEKO appliances from us knew this brand name and quality prior to their purchase. With the warranty and after-sale-service carried by Pacifica Appliance did help convinced themselves. For more information on BEKO products, please do drop by our Kota Damansara showroom. T.Q. 1) I tried a LG TROMM washer/dryer before. It's convenient, but somehow the clothes always end up very creased at the end of the drying cycle. Now using separate vented dryer.
Anyone have a better experience with the washer/dryer combos? 2) Wonder how the new heat pump dryers are with creases? How much are they nowadays? |

heatpump surely would be a plus. but beko doesnt play (at all) in the league of elextrolux, siemens or bosch. it seems to be from turkey(?) and from the website caters to eastern europe and sells in a few european countries too. reviews seem however to be positive - even in the long run. i am pretty sure beko is not premium, i read a review where the poster said the new dryer from beko was cheaper than a replacement heating element of his bauknecht dryer. go figure.

But I don't like the smell of the cloth after dyring. Probably because the air recirculate back. |

Hi TS,
I would suggest that you buy separate dryer and washing machine as washer dryer are not that reliable in the long run. Unless space is an issue then go for separate. I cancelled my plans to buy one after reading this. Are washer dryers less reliable than a washing machine? They should be, they have more parts and do more work, to expect different is unrealistic. But are they less reliable than a separate washer and tumble dryer combined? - That is a much fairer question. According to Which? Best washing machine brand reports washer dryers do break down more than washing machines, but they don't appear to qualify this by saying whether they break down any more than a washing machine and a tumble dryer. For all we know, a washer dryer may not on average break down any more than the combined separate machines together. My feeling, to be fair, is that they probably do, but not excessively so. The Which? reliability reports do appear to unfairly compare a single machine doing two jobs with a machine doing only one. To know more please read this link. http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/buying-advice-9.html |

seperate is definitely a must. since dryers hog electricity like mad i dont think you will find dryers with a rating better than B. if you have the space cover a drying area outside your house to shield of the rain and dry your stuff there. that's A+++
