CC builds are so much fun in sPVP , not so in RvR . This is because you start out with even odds in sPVP and the use of CC can help with splits.

what are CC builds?
sPvP = competitive pvp?

RvR = realm vs realm = World vs World vs World ?

Latency should be good. its a world game. (unfortunately i havent tried yet. Just manage to sold my D3 prepare puchase, going to buy the GW2)

Any online game connected to the US server would have around 250-300ms latency, but do not be alarmed you are not playing a game that require split seconds reaction, 250-300 ms means 0.25-0.3 seconds delay from the time you press your button and to the skill activation...you will barely notice it under majority of your gameplay in GW2

ArenaNet's network architecture is good. Even on 500ms you should be fine - the problem you might have is you can't play in sPvP properly.

PvE is fine.

On Unifi 5, latency to the beta servers in Texas was around 250-300ms. The game is "playable" depending on how you define it. For example when you hit the dodge button the moment you see the Champion Cave Troll raise its fist, you're already dead. I've also had lots of experience seeing my character running circles around Ettins and still get hit by their regular frontal attacks.

As for pre-purchase, it's best to get it early as ArenaNet did limit the number of digital product keys prior to the first public Beta event.

250ms-300ms is good for most class except mesmer if you're trying to interrupt this and that....

anyway, i'll probably wait until the boxed version available in anyway (amazon.com, retailer here, etc....). just cant be asked to download 20GB of installation files...

playing thief and getting the "evade" for traits bonus buff is hard with that..

that's why i play a rifle warrior.

btw got special skill for special race?

every race got it's own specific elite skill. humans with the gods prayer, char got the charzooka, norn with shapeshift and so on..

250-300ms for the latency means it almost the same latency that I used to play any international mmorpg with 1mb streamyx

I was on 3G, 300-400ms or so. Guess the game's net code was very well write, I never once get the "teleport" problem you seen in other MMO even in huge WvW battle...

Yes, but they don't affect PvP balance because they cannot be used there.

How do you check the latency in GW2 ? i can't seems to find the latency indicator like GW1 have at the lower right corner....
