Peace upon you guys.

Been sooo exciting and just finishing reading a few pages of this thread  rclxms.gif
Well I have a few questions smile.gif

1) How's the latency of the game?
Any1s still remember? (with streamyx 1 mb & Unifi 5). I just wanna know 'coz I don't really like to play when it lag  sad.gif

2) How much for the pre-prchase of this game 'coz I've been wondering to buy it A.S.A.P  biggrin.gif

Thx all and hope GOD bless all of you  thumbup.gif

On Unifi 5, latency to the beta servers in Texas was around 250-300ms. The game is "playable" depending on how you define it. For example when you hit the dodge button the moment you see the Champion Cave Troll raise its fist, you're already dead. I've also had lots of experience seeing my character running circles around Ettins and still get hit by their regular frontal attacks.

As for pre-purchase, it's best to get it early as ArenaNet did limit the number of digital product keys prior to the first public Beta event.

o wut mean? O_O

If you enter a command while your previous skill is going through it's animation, the command is registered and "queued" to execute immediately afterwards.

The problem with 500ms ping is not the skill activation, like one would worry about in WoW, rather it's about dodging/blocking those instant-kill attacks Champion-grade mobs throw out.

Any news about the next beta keys giveaway ?

Signed-up for the previous beta invite but I got rejected

At this point, likely never. They have even stopped pre-purchases leading up to the first Beta Weekend Event because they were over-capacity.

hi, is the any asia server? i afraid it will be lag and high ping like D3
*
Ironically the Asia servers in D3 (which are in Korea) give 3x higher ping than the US West servers. As NCSoft is the publisher, any Asian servers will likely be in Korea.

hi guys bought the game week ago but due to RL issues couldnt play in bwe1..any local guilds? which server will most of you play?
*
Most of the SEA and Oz players were on Sea of Sorrows (incidentally ranked #1 in BWE1 WvW with 6 wins 0 losses). However the number of servers available for BWE2 has doubled.

Hi to all pros! I'm a beginner gamer that is very interested in GW2! But before I buy, I just have questions to ask. Hope you all pros can help me out! (First time buying a game online><)

If I want to have the physical pack right, (like with the disc & beginner's guide book & stuff) how should I do the purchase?? (I like to collect games tongue.gif)

I'm living in Semenyih area, and they don't provide Unifi service here.. (Heard that Unifi is the fastest??) So if I wanna subscribe to an internet line for games, which company do you guys recommend??
Hope you pros can help me out! And wish to play with you all very soon! Thank you! ^^

Even with slow internet connection, this is the 21st century. Here is my proposed solution:

1. Buy the digital version.
2. Get some helpful person download the game client
3. Get said helpful person to burn a copy of the game client on to DVD (by splitting the 18GB up into multi-part RAR compressed files)
4. Get said helpful person to send you the DVD
5. Buy said helpful person dinner/drink/etc (optional)
6. Install game client.
7. Google the keywords "guild wars 2 beginner guide" and read/watch the 1000001 online guides on the internet.

Thanks. Sounds good.

One more important question, do you have any problem hitting someone in melee if he's is running away from you(eventhough you're right behind him). I played Warhammer Online and the game engine was coded so badly that I can't hit anyone in melee if they're running away eventhough I'm right behind them...keeps saying you're too far away, it wasn't latency friendly game at all. Quit that game right away. WoW didn't have this problem and I hope GW2 doesn't suffer from the same thing cause I love playing melee.
*
Didn't have any problems hitting people as melee (Guardian: Sword/Focus; Scepter/Shield). It's the ranged skills I have problem with, especially Blinding Flash. However from what I've heard and seen, Blinding Flash is buggy with its hit detection, even for US and EU players.

Not sure about Streamyx. Basic Unifi works well.

The one cool thing I can see happening in GW2 is mob trains. Since exp is separate for each player, once you have 3-4 players in a group killing mobs, you start to get many tag-along players, thus forming what we know in Realm of the Mad God as trains, where there are 20+ players running along killing everything in their path.

Here is an example in Realm
*
This does and will likely happen during the first week after launch/early start. Things will get crazy the moment the mob train stumbles onto a Dynamic Event, which scales the mob difficulty (more Elite or Champion mobs) and numbers (I remember a bunch of us level 20s getting swamped by an onslaught of level 5 Sons of Svanirs thanks to our downscaling and their upscaling).

QUOTE
I understand however, how a more populated server will have that zerging effect. I'm pretty sure ArenaNet is looking for ways to get rid of that since it defeats the purpose of having a WvW scenario.

There will always be zergs. However, if you've seen any of the Team Legacy WvW videos, zergs are countered hard by simple coordination and tactics.

QUOTE
Which is why I think what really balances the game overall is the 'Traits' not the skill sets. And gear probably doesn't impact this much.

There seems to be a general misunderstanding in regards to "gear does not matter". All gear at any particular level has the same "item budget", or ilevel if you're familiar with WoW or D3. However, picking the correct gear with the correct stats matters. For Guild War 2, weapons and armor are customized by Sigils and Runes respectively, while accessories (earrings, totems, amulets) are customized by Gems. So, say I'm planning a build that relies on Critical Hits and associated procs, I wouldn't my character want to be wearing items that give +Healing and +Condition Duration.

Was so planning on making a Pyromaniac Sylvari. But it seems that Flamethrowers are more CC than damage. Wonder what Sylvari heavy armor looks like. biggrin.gif

What will LYN server will be? SoS and Darkhaven(Oceanic) is full. There're a total of 70+ guild that will be unable to join on those two. Which also mean, most of us will be unable to get in and resulting on queue when the game launch.

source = http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/41975-...-are-you-going/

Isn't it's better if we choose other server? Like the thread that I've posted, Astralanium.
*
You're forgetting that there is no such thing as "server queue" in GW2. If a particular zone is full, you can either join the queue to get in or join the overflow server. In the overflow server, you'll be playing as normal, maybe with less people. Parties and overflow servers were addressed in BWE2

QUOTE
Improved Overflow Servers
We listened to a lot of the input we received from players regarding their experience with overflow servers in the first Beta Weekend Event, and we’ve implemented a new party UI that tells you when party members are on a different overflow world. We’ve also given party members the ability to fast travel to overflow worlds where other members of their party are located, and we’ve made it easier to keep party members together when moving between maps. It’s all designed to give you as smooth an experience as possible.

Server population matters only in WvW. Even then not everybody on a particular server will go there.

Goodness! Guess I'll give it a skip then. Totally clueless about all these things rclxub.gif

Btw, would there be like a SEA server or something? Takut lag/disconnections. Btw, got guest pass??
*
According to my traceroutes, with results confirmed by redditors, all US servers - including ones SEA and Oceanic players will be connected to - are in Dallas, TX.

QUOTE(tlts @ Jul 10 2012, 08:54 PM)
can give link for the beta?

beta and full version same client rite
*
Client Download is found at: https://account.guildwars2.com/download
You will, of course, need to have a registered GW2 (beta) key to download. You could also try p2p options.

Beta Weekend Event 2, 3 and full release will be the same client. (Source: ArenaNet Twitter)

Looks like Cari.com.my community will be in Kaineng. As briefly featured in the WvW video below:

"buy the beta"? I sure hope you weren't thinking of paying for the beta access, because nobody is. We are getting access to the Beta and Stress Tests by purchasing the game early, like an early bird bonus.
