He said, 3 years is standard proton warranty, but for preve, they give 5 years. He asked us to recall that before launch, there is 1 surprise yet to be revealed right? It is the 5years warranty and the new price. So when they see ur car is preve basically u are under 5 years warranty, unless they are too stupid. But better to get a black and white from ur SA or dealer when u get ur car. But my dealer is also a proton service centre so no big deal la, summore is my dad friend. As i said also, they printed the booklet way earlier than they decided to say they give 5 years warranty and how they gonna change again? they rather do announcement than to reprint everything, later they charge u higher we nag again, no good right?

QUOTE(torres09 @ May 1 2012, 07:32 PM) if really is 5 years then reprint and redistribute the owner manual to buyers. i am sure if u tell them after 3 years that GB have problem they will tell u warranty is 3 years as stated in owners manual. seriously, i din think they would go so low to get sales. i am seriously disappointed. DSZ announced loudly that proton is giving 5 years warranty to give buyers peace of mind. peace of mind that your tint will get replaced if bubble appear after 4 years???? manual print sebelum launch...dsz cakap 5tahun masa launch... jadi dah print banyak2 xkan nak buang...rugi la..

QUOTE(ghost_301 @ May 1 2012, 07:47 PM) There were once saying that there is surprise during the launch of Preve, and that's actually for the affordable price, as well as the 5 Years Warranty just for Preve. And since the booklet was printed earlier, it doesn't include the 5 years warranty since the standard is 3 years. He mentioned that it is not Extended Warranty Period, but it's a full 5 years warranty coverage for those things that are covered by 3 years warranty. Correct me if I am wrong though. thanks bro... can anyone give confirmation on this?

But in law wise, black and white or booklet stated 3 years, everything should follow on what is written on the booklet. Unless you have additional black and white stated that is for 5 years warranty.

Najib already announced it on the launching ceremony, they believe there is some sort of mutual understanding between proton and buyer? My SA also told me 5 years. If u buy something then they say give u 1 more year warranty few days later after u received the item, but the booklet no say, u wan request them to reprint the booklet for u? As i said, their marketing department is stupid and suck, so u cant expect them to come out with something while they are now busying sorting out the car allocation yo.. just call i Care proton if u are worried. It would be better if proton can have some representative in this forum, it would greatly build up their network and market and customer service better

Called back all customers, and register for the extended warranty program, Give black and white papers with detailed info about the extended warranty. Ppl are now confused man, i pon confused lol. The reason they need to sort this out early is to avoid confusion. They planned the 5 years warranty before launch, so why not give a simple piece of paper detailing about it when selling the car? I believe the arrangement is the same as the previous Proton Cars. My Persona is 5 years warranty also, but standard warranty is only 2 years. Another 3 years is covered by insurance. After you bought your car, you will receive an insurance certificate saying that from year 3 (or 4 in case of Preve) your car is covered by Extended Warranty by the insurance company.

I beleive, since the new announcement, definately they will print a new warranty booklet.
However, they will not throw the earlier printed version to the bin.
Furthermore, to print a new booklet requires several steps/stages or procedures (I recall my previous experience with one of the manufacturing co.) The least they can do is to print additional hand-out or errata to the current booklet but if the booklet has been distributed, then it will be another hassle.

tomorrow i wil call icare also.
btw, the actual story i want to tell before thos warranty thingy came up. i went for 2nd test drive at another showroom today. surprisingly, the sluggishness was much better! i dont know is becos of engine break in or wat (the SA said those that come for test drive all test 99 and cornering 99).. definitely more better than initial test drive on launching day.
