Hi, can i ask about 'BEST STAR' resort better or 'Malibest' resort is better? both is in cenang beach right?

hey guys i just came back from langkawi. went there for 3d2n. rented a myvi (auto) for rm150 for 3 days. and island hopping (4 islands) 2pm-5pm for rm20. stayed at aseania hotel which is nearby chenang beach. had dinner at The Cliff. its at the end of the beach where they have the sign of Langkawi Permata Kedah or sth. if youre driving there, its actually right behind the underworld mall thingy. the food there is awesome! atmosphere is superrrrrrrrrrr amazing! everythings perfect! however the food quite expensive la. the cheapest is pasta which is around rm28 if not mistaken. but its totally worth it. i will rate it 9 over 10. honestly.

after dinner walk around the shops around the chenang beach streets. bikinis there are pretty cheap. price range from rm30 per set. quite good quality. 

the next day went to the pulau payar marine park day tour. its from 8-5pm. they will pick u up from the hotel and send u to the jetty. from there u will have to take an hour ferry ride. the tour is rm100 per person including snorkelling equipment and lunch. as well as shark feeding. basically they just give u the left over food and some chips to feed the shark wtf. after the tour they will send u back to ur hotel.

had dinner at red tomoto. heard a lot of reviews online so decided to check it out. its right opposite the underworld mall thingy where most of the duty free shop located at. (the zon, cocovalley). the food there was alright. i would rate it 7.5/10. after that, drop by babylon. apparently its a super happening place for foreigner and tourists. all the foreigner friends we met told us bout that place so we decided to check it out. well, its a reggae bar/pub by the beach. super cozy settings. they have shisha over there too. and they play bob marley kinds of song. i dont really fancy it but overall it was great. super cozy!

btw, the car, island hopping tour and marine park tour were booked in the airport. (right after collect luggage). bargain with them in malay la.

Between Andaman (room only) and Meritus (room + brekkie), which is better? Plan to indulge a bit on my final night in langkawi, budget around 500+..
Or any other suggestions?

Yes i plan do the walking and sightseeing in first 3 days. Last day just stay in hotel relax.
Will stay in cenang area for first 2 nites.
I also think Andaman better but my waifu like hotel buffet breakfast.... If add breakfast in Andaman will over budget >.<

just hide your bottles properly and try not to look guilty. they wont ask u to pour your luggage's contents out unless you are really unlucky. i managed to bring back more than 1L with Air Asia

I should have read this forum earlier.. 

Just got back from our tour in langkawi last mth and it was a stressful trip from the start.

As there were 10 of us, for logistic wise, we thought we shld settle accommodation and car rental before we go.

we found this homestay website and contact this guy "Mr Rosly" and put a deposit to secure our accommodation and car rental.
All I can say is BIG mistake on our part! 

Upon arrival at the airport. Mr Rosly is no-where in sight. when we contact him, his daughter picked up the phone (Seems like a biz based from home ???), she told us her dad is not available and asked us to wait at the airport !!

After waiting for a long while, we had no choice but to engage another vendor at the langkawi airport counter (which ends up CHEAPER) and find our way to the homestay.

We also realised that he is not a staff of the homestay but rather a "middle-man" ! He recommend accommodation, tours, car rental etc. We knew we made a mistake by engaging him. 

When we contacted him for our refund to our deposit but no reply from call, SMS and email.

So, for those who travel to langkawi, BEWARE of such SCAMMER. His hp number is 019XXXX205 and 013XXXX205

If you needed a car rental, just rent from the airport. it cheaper and you can view the car on the spot before you confirm with the vendor.

i will go langkawi next week n will be arrive there at nite around 9pm. i prefer to book a car first b4 i go. coz i have 2 kids with me. i have contact one guy with toyota innova, he quote me RM400 for 3d2n. is the price resonable?
