it is bro! ive been spray can painting my pirated kit for a while.
the best brand for me is Anchor.
works well with bootleg.
u can try Anchor Black, its glossy and shiny.
then buy some Tamiya Enamel Gold and Zippo Lighter Fluid to do the
gold panel lining if u want. or just touch it up with
Artline Gold 990xf. works well with bootleg also!
then topcoat it with Anchor Clear (gloss topcoat)

i think it would look nice. but try it on some unused model first,
to see how it goes.

hope it helps.
and post ur finished work here la, so that otai2 here can give more opinion.  biggrin.gif  thumbup.gif

wow, very detailed suggestions, thank you very much indeed, will try it as soon as I can find them.
Not sure if can find the Anchor brand here in JB, will Mr Hobby's produce the same effect?

To be honest.

Anchor spry & Tao spray... easi to get wipeout. The paint no strong enough.
For anchor chrome....when the temperature heat up to 28-32c. normally u store at cabinet & the environment r hot & air flow r not good. The paint will melt. U can touch it & u feel it.

Tamiya enamel easi to scar too. Best recoment is Mr Hobby Laquer paint. Tahan panas, Tahan lasak. Apply to mostly modeling included GK, resin & ABS.

not necessarily Anchor, any brand of spray cans u see in hardware shop also can
Mr. Hobby yes of course, it is meant to spray paint model kits, though of course comes with a price

that's because Anchor is Acrylic iinm, then must topcoat to protect the paint too
Lacquer is good, but not necessarily needs expensive Mr Hobby, Nippon Pylox is lacquer too which is good

btw, painting topic ends here, pls continue in Model Kits Painting thread

OK, but the thing is, is it possible with spray cans? I know with AB this will not be a problem, but since I don't have AB set, need to try lo.
Please advise, thanks  smile.gif

Still not finished yet, but enough is done to show him off a dramatic action pose. Just got to finish assembling and damaging his backpack.

Ok guys, so I'm visiting KL on the 9th-12th of July. Hotel is the One-Stop Serviced Residential Area. I believe it's really close to Time Square where there's Gamers Arena and Graffiti Toys. Any other stores around the area I'm staying at?

Which place has the cheapest kits? Or is it cheaper getting something from Ascentic, etc?

Oh and slightly off topic but General Nik or a Canon user can help me. Where's the closest service centre? Is it the one at Times Square? And is the service quick and cheap? Wanna repair a stripped tripod mount on my 1Ds.

if u meant pirated kits since u are asking here (abuden? laugh.gif ),

LWD quality overall not bad.. not sure about their HG kits but their EG/FG kits have pretty good quality, snap fits properly and no visible molding inconsistency at all laugh.gif

Nu Gundoom I got few months back. Went hunting on ebay cos I read somewhere about the limited one so was thinking of getting my hands on it.

Opened again to clear and re-arranged some unbuild kits so..thought I just snap a few photos of it to share up.

Though the price was a lil bit off what I wanted to bid for, but I think it's worth it. [and I haven't assembled it..yet.]

From looking at the pre-painted parts. I'm not sure if it was painted manually or a machine did the job as some parts are very well done while some others have 1 or 2 tiiiiny bubbles plus the painting is abit off.

I was hoping that they painted the face.. XD
