damn cool esp the sound  drool.gif

Hey, can our car installed a rpm meter? cuz first time driving a car without rpm looks weird  whistling.gif

Haha I know what you mean, but does the normal prius even have that (don't think it has a tacho)? I think I saw some post on priuschat or somewhere where he had a scangauge II or something that could possibly check rpm. Is it even possible to get a proper rpm reading with the electric cvt? Someone said that there is no fixed rpm for whatever speed you are going (as it depends on conditions)

Some additional info (that still applies to Prius c):

Nice, and thanks for posting what the key fob looks like too! It was way different from the one that I saw with the test drive car (they must've had a special one just for the test drive car or something).

guys... i am planning to change to PriusC (since 95% of my driving is just city drive) - Penang. Does it a good deal to get this car? btw, how is the hybrid resale value in malaysia?
*
Somebody mentioned earlier that the 2010 Prius was selling for about $118k on mudah.my. You could check up what the current selling prices for those older and different hybrid models I suppose to get a fairly good idea, but I am not sure what it would be for a car like this. I do know they are selling like hotcakes around the world hehe.

Some more Ganador sports muffler related stuff:

They do show the prius c in there albeit briefly but it also talks a little about the power boost system (pbs)/efficiency/torque/noise/etc as well as the manufacturing process and what not. The third one doesn't show the prius c though and shows some stuff already shown in the 2nd vid.

Why you all can get your priusC so quick ? @@. I ordered prius C in April 20 something and the SA said it will arrive at September, what the....

Ouch, that's quite long but I feel your pain hehe. Ordered mine beginning of March and it still hasn't come but it's already in the country.. I was told initially April... then May.. then mid May... then add two more days... now it must be somewhere in limbo heh. I've already played all my patience cards so I think I shall be a bit more assertive and lay some pressure. Not sure what the deal was but they told me they already had cars on the lot (my color too) at the beginning of May so I don't know why mine is coming at a later shipment (I assume they must be licking someone's butt and pushing them into my place in the queue perhaps - as of now that's the only thing I can surmise). I feel as if there are so many hoops to jump through and seriously did consider another car at one point but I will stick to my guns because I really like this car. Perhaps you can ask one of the folks in this thread for their SA (sales advisor), in fact just a few posts down someone mentinoed there was a white one available but I don't know if someone snatched that one up already. Stick around and I'm sure someone will post up if there is one available quicker. Anyone mind assisting BabyZero to get their car quicker?

@s3nInsight
Ahhh, maybe that is what happened to me too! What city by the way?

Hey, my sa told me the same too. After that they explain even the car is here and allotted. But it depends cos ap clearance took some time at port.  Further,  UMW need to recheck the car for pre delivery inspection due to shipment. A friend of mine got his polo gti, brand new, but pdi suck. He got a car with the whole exhaust pipe rusted. So that checking is very important. Hope that all buyer will check their car even the bottom of the car.
Thanks for the info. I for one have already planned to inspect it fully before I even drive it off the lot, I've also written myself a checklist reminder of stuff (aside from the stuff like nicks, rust) like the map version, the wheel alignment, underside, all lights functioning, airbag indicator (not sure if this one stays on like the US version for the back passenger), wipers, all windows/mirrors, seat fabric, tinting, reverse cam mounting..just everything tongue.gif I'm going to be really anal about it but I want to make sure everything is tip top condition and working, have to be thorough with my car purchases hehe.

@beck_ken
That's kind of weird cos I know the Prius C can take quite a little bit more over than what it states in the manual so it shouldn't be spitting it up unless it was really full up to the brim which I doubt cos the pump would stop way before that (auto) unless you were filling it manually but possibly overflow like Kiding said. Did you pump at the same place and pump? Maybe it hadn't settled down in the tank yet.

Here's a post about filling the tank to capacity

Hmm, has anyone read anything like this before? Isolated problem hopefully (or maybe the driver was the factor haha).

Brake pedal problem?

So far that makes two weird problems (you can read the other one here) that I've read that haven't really got any proper explanations for the causes and I hope they are isolated incidents.

Does Prius C equip with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) ? I don't see it in my car, now might want to find the 3rd party TPMS...
Anyone experience quite a big noise like "ka ka ka" when car slowing moving from standstill and slowly release brake? although it is intermittent, it is quite annoying...
*
Regarding tpms I recall reading it in the US manual. This post states that for them it only shows low tire pressure and not individual tire pressure. I assume at the very least we have that. Hmm, I might even want to look at 3rd party tpms options. Maybe someone in here who already has the car can deflate one tire a little bit and see if the tire pressure warning light comes on. BTW has no one been playing around with their tire pressure for front and back wheels yet?
About the "ka ka ka" sound, is it possible to record that sound?

@beck_ken
Yeah let us know what they say about the fuel coming out after you pump, doesn't seem like it should be doing that. What gas are you using btw? 95?97?

You are right. The "tire pressure warning light" can be found on page 434 of US manual, but ours has no such function.
*
I wish we had the tpms like the one shown here on page 4.
I don't have the car yet but I noticed that even on the Malaysian brochure I don't see the low tire pressure warning icon when it shows a pic of the MID.

Sad if we don't have that - it's a pity they take out such things. I would prefer to have anything that can contribute to safety.

Also no one has answered whether trip info (or any other info) can be displayed on the 6.1" screen (I suppose no one installed the dvd-avn option?). Again in the Japanese and American versions they have the ability to display it. It's just kind of nice if you could display it on the big screen for passengers to fiddle with.

nope, i dont believe there is any linkage from MID to DVD-AVN.

and it kinda annoys me they call it DVD-AVN when the DVD feature can only active when the car is stopped. I tried to put dvd the other day by the time i get to chapter 1 my wait also over liao.

also you cannot set destination for GPS when car is moving by spelling. the SPELL button is greyed out. You can only press for NEAR locations and go to them.
*
Is it possible to use via voice commands instead? I think there was also ways to enable watching the dvd while driving but that may void warranty (rewiring or what not involved), I'd like to find a bypass for that but if rewiring is involved I'll skip that idea. Kinda silly to have the dvd player when you can't watch. Only practical for me if it was playing music videos heh (since the audio doesn't cut off when you move).

QUOTE(vey99 @ May 22 2012, 06:11 PM)
i am a little disappointed that we dont have (so far)
- tyre pressure monitor
- auto lock/unlock
- some MID screens
- 9 airbeg (usa)

i thought i was getting a global specced unit when i ordere the car, so that for once i can enjoi what the yanks and other develop nation ppl used.
*
Me too, then as I read more & more I noticed the stuff we were missing out on, I sincerely thought we were going to get most of the stuff except that entune. I don't get why they'd cut some of that stuff out. It'd be nice if it was actually there and not activated and someone figured out how to enable some of the above stuff. Wouldn't mind having parking assist sensor too but that's just me (the Australian versions have this).

I think maybe this information should be mentioned on the front page.

Wait, you mean we don't have that one either!? I guess alot of pedestrians are gonna get run over doh.gif
That function is damn important since our cars are "stealthy" in EV mode and you know how pedestrians in Malaysia tend to walk in front of cars like they are made of steel tongue.gif
I wonder if the sound can be haaxed.

So how do you guys do you pulse & glide? Do you speed up to let's say 70kph and then just let it glide (foot off accelerator) until you reach about 54kph and then pulse up again or do you speed until 70kph and then let it glide and then try to maintain some kind of mid speed with foot slightly on pedal? I suppose on a lower speed you could foot off the accelerator so the gas motor would cut off and then take over with the ev? I'm guessing this is depending on the speed you are going at whether fast or slow, but isn't there like a top speed threshold for pulse & glide for the c?

Was just re-reading some stuff from:

Added on May 23, 2012, 1:35 amSomeone on the priuschat seems to unfortunately had an accident with their prius c. Luckily they are safe and no serious injuries thankfully due to the safety measures on this car. He was rear-ended by an suv. After the IIHS reports and the comments this guy made I feel glad at least it doesn't fall short on safety. I am a little curious to see what kind of damage the prius c sustained.

Congrats to those getting their cars.
On another note, now there are two people who say their car does autolock. *cue dramatic music* Now it is confusing whether it is present or not - I could've sworn the test drive car I drove had it. I hope more prius c users come in here and can confirm whether it works for them or not and how they got it working. Anyone with the local manual absolutely sure it's not mentioned?

I got mine 2 days back. Tinted it with agard 595 and change sport rims today at rawang.

But I found mine doesn't have autolock. Anyone can show me how to do the trick for autolock? Cos I tried the trick in forum but still fail.

Further, I notice a terrible road/tyre noise when driving. Anyway to cure this issue?
I read somewhere that they mentioned tire pressure and type (width or whatever it was) could contribute to that. Some people added dampening materials to the floor/door or went as far as changing to a diff tire or pressure. Did you change tire too? What's your tire pressure?
