If have budget, i would say a Q800ds is the one, if on a tight budget get a Q300 and skip Q100 cause Q300 has bigger driver and better soundstage from my experience.

Yeah, then u can intro our bro here your Shunyata power cords. Hehehe.
*
From my experience, the Q800ds will be producing very diffusing sound, good for ambient in movies but might be weaker in concerts and multichannel music. It's because it's lack of a front firing bass driver hence the "immediate" sound from them would be lesser. If you're into movies more and dont mind the less engaging effect when it comes to music, then Q800ds is the answer.

There're plenty other brands available as far as power cords concerned and shunyata for one, isnt the taste for everyone too hence why there're many brands out there to choose from brows.gif

i plan buy Q300,Q200C and Q100 for surround. i found the price for Q300 is slightly higher then Q100 around RM200-300. it's better for me to stay on Q100 or pay more to get Q300??

i am using Denon 1909, 50% music 50% movie..

Definatly the Q300, for a RM200-300 more, u get bigger driver to deliver wider and clearer soundstage. Worth it all.
I am using Q300 as surrounds driven by a Denon 1912 and it is great. Since ur into music, it can be a good hi-fi spkr if u wanna setup a hi-fi one day.

Anyone went to KLIAV to appreciate the latest from KEF?
The Black Blade sound nice. If it was white colour would indeed look nice against the white colour R Series on display.
The Black R Series was set up in a HT enviroment. Not sure why did not put up for HiFi but was put on static display next door.
The LS50 look interesting. Real departure from basic with Orange colour driver. Not sure want to cover up or put on display the driver...

Had they put on a tag price on the LS50, it looks so sexy with the orange driver. But too bad i was not in KLIAV to hear how it sounds.
Based on the technology of the Blade series, must sound good as it claims to be studio monitor speakers .

Not wrong its RM6k. Did not manage to listen to it as when I was in that room the Blade was playing. The Blade is price 20x the LS50 and indeed impressive. Of course there are more expensive speakers in other rooms but this is the KEF thread so we as KEF owner will surely appreciate the 2nd most expensive speaker from our beloved brand.
I am just curious if there is a set of KEF MUON in Malaysia anywhere?

Hi there,

I've visited a few HT shops today and i'm impressed with the sound from a set which comprises of

-C7
-C6LCR
-C1
-C4
-Onkyo 609

Total price quoted is RM9,400 with installation. Is this price fair with the market price? Which shop within klang valley would give the best offers for KEF products?

Total newbie into HT, so some good advices would be nice so i can join u KEF Owners!

Thanks.

Hi,
Pls advise if the following set-up works:

Marantz NR1603 + KEFQ300 + KEFQ200c + KEFCi200QL + Q400b?

I need a ceiling built-in surround but not sure if the Ci200QL is suitable. Pls advise if other Ci model is more suitable?
And how much would this set-up cost?

Thank you.

Nice AVR u have there. My setup is entry lvl which is Q300 + Q200c drive by a Denon 1912.
I got my Q300 at Penang which is a good deal compared to Sarawak even after shipment ... If the offer price still available, i'll PM u
If u can fork out the extra cash, the Q800ds will be your surround choice. But a Q300 as surround will not be far off. Hehehe. Once u have the 5.1, things will never be the same.

My friend is very interested in the Q300.
He is in KL.

Should he get in KL or Penang?
Which shop is cheaper?

Hi Guys. Am new to the Hifi scene and was lookin to setup a 5.1 system, hope you guys could guide me. Was initially looking for AE speakers but nobody seems to be selling them anymore.
Then i was recommended the KEF at Perfect Hifi. Was quoted Q500+Q200c+Q100. I was wondering if i should upgrade to the Q300 or Q800ds. I dun mind bursting the budget a bit as i dun plan to upgrade for a loooooooong time.
Then i went to Desa where they recommended Mission instead of KEF. Said for movies Mission would be better. Was recommended the MX5+MXc2+79DS. But after surfin i could not find any recent reviews on Mission speakers, so im leaning more to the KEFs.

I will be pairing these speakers with a Denon 1912 or 2311 (price almost the same). Do Denons match the KEFs? As for the subs, I will be borrowing one for now. Thanks mates!
