Any more nice gamebooks (as said in previous posts) other than the 'choice of' games and the 'assassin of ___' one (forgot the name) ?

QUOTE(pekkauwer @ Oct 12 2012, 02:30 PM) so thats why i cant see fighting fantasy book now..... you know the one with some name as steve jackson Are they really banned? I see Fighting Fantasy books at bookshops all the time (although only about 10, including some Sorcery ones). They're at the Young Adult section. I still remember Ian Livingstone ones are really punishing and there's only 1 real way through the story (think Cavern of the Snow Witch). Steve Jackson, on the other hand, is more forgiving and you can win with a few different choices.Ian Livingstone's Blood of the Zombies, fresh off the oven, released 16th Oct 2012. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...LmFuZHJvaWQiXQ.. QUOTE(pekkauwer @ Oct 12 2012, 04:39 PM) yup there is star wars gamebook too, i only have book 2, and it involves bobba fett life(for part 2 that is) I have those 2 as well QUOTE(kaizer3000 @ Oct 12 2012, 10:37 AM) For those who still have no idea what a gamebook is but want to try it out for free, heres a free gamebook: Too linear, the story does not branch and the choices have no major impact other than for the next page. But a good introduction.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...LnRvdWNoZXIiXQ.. This post has been edited by Dannyl: Oct 18 2012, 07:56 AM |

^ Nearly everything Gameloft makes is rubbish, imho. Their shooters are twitchy (and crash often), you need to buy stamina for their football game (it seems they like to promote doping in sport), and their Batman game uses some sh*t slow mirror to download data that your 15minute refund window has long expired before you realize it doesn't work on your handset. Seriously, screw Gameloft!!
Bard's Tale is an awesome game, with some of the best voice work in RPGs. Already played it in the past, so didn't bother with the Android version this time. Hoping that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for the iPad gets an Android port. |

i dun mind "buy with real $$ for in game credits"...provided that it is NOT A MUST...some games u can earn a decent credits without even having to purchase anything with ur money...
but some games like Gameloft...ugh...they follow the FB game concept...u hv limited tries or stamina or money...once finished hv to wait till nx 24 hrs to reload just a little bit...thus forcing u to actually have to cough out money to buy credits.... I especially hate the idea of "buy the game, then buy credits to play" like Batman game...I have paid for the game, and they expect me to pay again for the credits??? crazy!! |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 19 2012, 03:51 PM) honestly, i have always stayed away from a few companies -- Gameloft is one of them. besides that in game purchase, permissions requested is another thingy... i cant remember. i only know its a steal at 2.99 or 6usd or even 10USD (rm30) cuz its a true console quality RPG game.Added on October 19, 2012, 4:36 pm hmmmm A Bard's Take is selling for only usd2.99... says there 50% week. @Baronic did you pay this price or higher? i might just grab a copy first... then play later. the dialogue and script keeps u going, no rubbish kill x amount of monsters like all the other noob korean style rpgs out there. the dialogue isnt one way either, u can choose what to say back to npc and what u say back has actually consequences in what u do for the mission, the rewards u get, and the story line. this isnt a "loot" rpg tho as in u dont get like weapon drops ala diablo style. customisation comes from the creatures u summon (you're a bard remember), and as u level higher and buy new equipment u can mix and match your summon creatures to create strategies that suit u. and then some monsters will come along and totally rhape your summon creatures and u gotta think of new methods. so it isnt a hack and slash mindlessly like Zenonia, its more like a.... almost like a thinking rpg. u can block attacks, or attack far away from bows (which i found to be easiest heh heh, let my summons tank). but even if u specialise in bow attacks u can still melee, still can do decent damage (cuz when enemy starts whacking u melee, u cant use bow, only works at range) PROTIP : save OFTEN whenever u see a save point. altho there is autosave where u can continue if u shut game down without saving, if u DIE, u can only respawn from last manual save point This post has been edited by Baronic: Oct 19 2012, 06:37 PM |
