QUOTE(mat79 @ Apr 21 2012, 01:06 AM) bugging my friend again, me asking about the weld n he didnt notice that what i asking about has a hole. He said maybe some showroom cars are pre prod units to save cost coz the things is hidden. He shock that people are noticing that. Normally they will fill the gap with filler wire/metal. This filler wire/metal just for touchup only, cosmetic, but the plasma weld is make it strong. the bold part has came up in my mind when looking at the showroom/testdrive units. I strongly believe this is the case.He said, the same thing as in waja, wira, n ask me whether notice or not waja also use door sash, also weld, but not using plasma during that time, but with filler wire oso. It will be no gap. So, dont worry he said. Yup, upon checking the waja, yup, no gap coz cover with filler wire. About rumours on crossmember problem, i can confirm its wrong coz crossmember using hpf, n the machine is own by prtn, not vendors. Hydroforming subframe oso no probs coz same as exora, only being reinforced by hpf. btw, from my past experience in manufacturing company (electronics anyway), sometimes we do sell the pre-production units and continue with mass-pro units. Is proton doing the same ?... but sometimes, the pre-production units will go as a display unit at the shop. This post has been edited by ahaks75: Apr 21 2012, 01:12 AM |

QUOTE We would like to address concerns regarding pictures of a damaged Proton Prevé circulating on the web. At around 4.45pm yesterday, one of our sales advisors was involved in an accident while driving from Jalan Sentul towards Jalan Pahang in KL, when the Proton Prevé that he was driving hit a divider and landed awkwardly causing the lower arm to break. While we're happy to report that our sales advisor is unhurt, our test-drive unit, however, was damaged as a result of the accident. So, remember to buckle up and drive safe because accidents can happen - to anyone and to any car. SoS - Proton Edar Official Facebook Account https://www.facebook.com/protonmy |

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Apr 20 2012, 08:37 PM) This practically gives a new meaning to "Driving the wheels off the car"... which is something you actually can't do without the help of a mechanical failure... or a big boulder. QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Apr 20 2012, 09:17 PM) A tweet by Hazeri Samsuri, editor at Top Gear Malaysia. First Preve crash - salesman went 120kmh in Sentul, tried to avoid a car and tyre hit the pavement!!!! Tie rod patah beb!!! QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Apr 21 2012, 01:12 AM) Sleepwalker can update the story on LYN frontpage the real issue to correct the misunderstanding people make about Preve? |

not selling pre prod unit of course, only some used as display coz to save cost. N he mentioned that for that hidden part, never occur in their mind that malaysian is really inspecting until that part. :-). Ha..ha..next time prtn knowsla, people will inspect until under the car.
So, i think its enough info i that i gathered i share, preve already launch. Many have test driven it. So, i believe we shudnt be shy, just continue comments on pros n cons. But if can, if u hate the G or dissatisfied with G, can u all please stop Blamming Prtn coz i think n i believe, protonians dont involve in politics, they work hard i believe. Every co has a rule which u need to abide the owners and shareholders...can doing proposal, trying to persuade but the decission are theirs'. So, really nice knowing u guys. Luv sharing with u guys n also learn a lot from u guys. Until next time. When i have newer info on the hatch n global small car project which planning to debut next year. By the way, if not mistaken flx se manual already out for booking, rm46,899k. Overshadow by preve. Sorry off topic. |

If malaysia was at the heart of these organisations instead of just raking our money, they will buck up and do us justice. Not constant bailout with our money and forcing us to accept crap vehicles? Look at airasia and perodua. Do you see people b****ing about them as much? Wake up, we are no longer living in kampung days. Even Korea whom 20 years ago was lower income than us now has kia, hyuidai, Samsung, girls generation and kimchi to be exported successfully. What do we have to show? If you wanna compare, at least pick the right company. |

Just a layman sharing thought n unfo. Sorry appear back. Erm, for ecu stting, being informed, this one across all manufacturers, its been tune to be balance, interm of reliability, fuel consumption, performance and safety. Everything has been taken into account. I think its not that hard to familiarise with cvt characteristics, same as changing from manual to auto. But doesnt mean it cant be set for performance. Do u think merc@beemer pwrtrain is dumb allowing tuners to supress them? Nope actually. Just the purpose is diff. Tuners more towards performance. Fc n even emmisison is not their priority. Salam. QUOTE(mystvearn @ Apr 21 2012, 01:38 AM) Out on Paultan. people like it because they can see a leap and an effort on proton's part to improve themselveshttp://paultan.org/2012/04/21/proton-edar-...crash-pictures/ Is it me or this has been the first proton car which there are a lot of people like and hate it? people hate it because there are people who like it. they hate it because they've been let down by proton once, and now that they have spent all their hard earnt money on what they believe are better albeit more technologically outdated brands, they don't want to feel like they've made the wrong choice. they want proton to be forever shitty so that they can feel that they've made the right choice in buying other brands. they want to keep on believing that they are driving something better. ...when they're not.
