havent done. plan to have a view 1st later. dont plan to test drive it yet, later poisoned much la for sure.  sweat.gif  now doing good research bout this car 1st.  biggrin.gif sister is also looking for a new car as well. plan for a forte 6-speed or koup instead of Preve. maintenance also cheap.

apart from the impressive specs, anyone here has the maintenance schedule of prices for this? naza should improve its website la, should put everything there like honda. cars are good but marketing-wise, they're so lousy la imo.
Izputra has done a maintenance comparison between various makes. He is usually on the Kia Forte thread.

You cannot make a direct comparision like that. Most normal servicing will cost approx the same as the only variable is the engine oil and filters with labor costs being a percentage of that. So costs wouldnt differ much.

But dont get carried away with the low initial cost of servicing for Kia. I have a 2006 Kia in my house and servicing isnt cheap. Trust me. The main cost of servicing comes when u have to change wear & tear parts. The normal periodic servicing is nothing actually. These parts used to be quite expensive for Kia. Not sure if prices have improved since. But be prepared to incure higher costs once u cross the 20,000km mark.

The problem with Kia's in the past was durability of parts which required more constant replacement as compared to say Toyota. I sure hope this has now changed. The shock absorbers on my 2003 Toyota Vios lasted till end 2011. Will it be the same for the Optima? I can only hope.

Hmmm, now with the 5 year warranty, I think the after 20,000km mark should not be an issue. It's after the 5 year warranty that we should be worried about but if the Korean parts lasts as long as a Japanese, then we're looking at absorber change in 3-4 years time. Before the end of the 5 years warranty, do a thorough check and of course, it helps if during this period, you get close to the mechanics and service managers so that they can help in getting some crucial parts changed for you.

Warranties cover defects not wear & tear. Im refering to replacement of parts due to wear & tear. So absorbers or any other part changed will not be covered unless its defective.

Something like that. Its a step up loan system. But i think the price is still high. If im gonna pay about RM 220K for the older E90 model, i might as well top up 35K and get the new 320i since there are some major differences.

Guys,
After almost a month crack my head to finalize between Accord and K5 and after almost a month waiting for my K5, finally got my car today morning. My K5 BS color with BLR plats number. Few things I would like to get advice from the current owners:

1) I do remember last time discussion going on regarding the tire pressure. So what should be the psi that we need to use for this tire?
2) Try to test power at Plus highway today. When drive at 120km/h I found that the steering wheel is vibrating a bit, is it normal?
3) I also feel that the car going toward left when I let the car go through without holding the steering wheel? Should I send back to Naza to do the alignment?
4) When I get the car the meter showing its already went through 88km so far. The explanation I get from the sales person is they drive the car for puspakom for inspection and send the car for free tinted. Is the 88km is normal? Is it possible they sell me the test drive car?
