Since I have stopped all supplements; cant say much as of now in terms of as supplement intake reallife benefits.
but from my experience during my supplements days; It had indirect benefits (mostly you may know about it, Dr. DL); but just for the benefit of others. Here I'm referring to L-carnitine and not the D.
Carnitine stimulates the breakdown fats by the mitochondria and plays important role in transportation of fatty acids into mitochondria.
Here is where it plays importance; a defiency in Carnitine results in decrease in fatty-acid concentrations in mitochondria, hence reduced energy production.
If the heart doesnt have enough supply of oxygen; Carnitine levels decreases quickly. hence leads to less energy and increase risk of angina and hearth problem. During intensive exercise or weightlifting; oxygen level decreases; hence Carnitine supplement makes good sense.
Clinical trials have some evidence on the above and increase in productivity.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11382369Bottom line, Carnitine improves fat metabolism, hence increasinf energy prduction in the heart muscles and may also prevent the production of metabolites (toxic fatty acid - the products of metabolism).
Generally in terms of improving blood supply and energy metabolism it had to be looked at all of these 4s; namely Carnitine, Pantethine, CoQ10 and magnesium.
Nowadays, I use food to have those in my intake and seldom on supplements.
Thanks. I wanna get more ripped so if anything can help, I'll go for it.
