Was planning to use the Machine Bench Press, but seems like there's only the chest press and vertical chest press at the gym I go to.

Which one would most closely emulate the bench press?

P.S. I used the chest press, but felt less of chest, more strain on shoulders that I had to control to prevent injury.
*
Why not just do a bench press?

And alien, i have no friggin idea what youre talking about.

Im sure you disagree, but you do know that your posts sometimes has absolutely no context to the topic in hand? And needing google to understand what you are posting is also plain ridiculous.

Be clear or dont post at all.

Being atrophied, and with some joint issues, looking to minimize risk of injuries.

Since I go to failure, I presume I would need a spotter as well, as I'm new.

Do whichever that feels the best for you. Different people different results

Added on June 7, 2012, 2:06 pmbut then, you do ask about the squat of 1100% bodyweight right? Just clarifying on that, that's all.
*
Did you really need to post multiple times to explain one damn thing? What happens when everyone posts like you?

You can refer to this link as a rough guide. I'm doing the machines option.

http://wiki.dandascalescu.com/summaries/ti..._gaining_muscle

And of course I won't be using the 10lbs as a target! That's assuming one has the best diet, supplements, and training form.
*
I dunno man, i read the link, and frankly speaking only two sets per session x two times a week? Im very skeptical lol.

What the user gained in lean muscle mass is very different from the link you've read (10lbs within 2 weeks!). Didn't have much time to read the log just skimmed on it. Try read it and gives your opinion.
*
Impressive gains. But note that the authornonlyndid crossfit before starting on this. I guess we will see how dt1 is doingnin a few weeks.

Mike, why don't you try it? It is just a month routine and since you are quite an experience bb, you might be able to follow the protocol to the T right?
*
sweat.gif im not nearly experienced enough. Im still a beginner. Im currently trying to reach a dl and squat pr so imma gonna stick to my routine for a while till i reach my target poundage

Ady fyi my diet sucks balls. All im doing day to day is trying to get enough protein without burning off my salary lol. Cant be bothered to cook too..

QUOTE(DT1 @ Jun 7 2012, 03:31 PM)
Haha I meant awesome as well. I thought you were saying it's subpar. He faced some problem with his diet due to work, which could be a limiting factor to his progress.
*
No one should realistically expect to follow a program to a t. Real life gets in the way. However, itsbinteresting that westside 5 3 1 makes some flexibility for that

just remember, only rugby player do the squat. others none. actually, I don't want to looks like a bodybuilder. I just want to look fit and don't muscle expand too much..
*
false. alot of sports incorporate squats into their weight training.

you must be the type that thinks its friggin easy to gain muscles. if thats the case, stick to your 5kg db's. it should be enough to not 'expand' your muscles too much.

dont do compounds either. 'Expands" muscles too much, later u become too big and scare yourself.

stick with curling the db. should be more than enough.

this is my current body

i wanna become like this

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

me currently 165cm 63KG the guy in the picture 168 or 170cm 80kg++

i should cut first, to 60, then continue bulk to 70, or i will bulk to 70 first then cut, then bulk again?

could it be cutting just 3KG then bulk again, its useless and wasting time? or the cut really did shred off some fats?

my friend said my BF is about 16% or a little bit more now, if i bulk to 70 i'm afraid i will be too fat then my mom will RAGEEEEE,she dont support me  doing this sport because she likes those people with slim slim body, she says if my BF goes higher then 20 she will ban me from this sport  sad.gif
but my target is to reach that buff buff body, so when bulking obviously will get some fats, lol

any opinion??
*
in all honestly, if you cut you aint gonna go nowhere. you're just gonna get skinny. i would say, bulk BUT dont overdo it. yes you will gain fat, but you shouldnt be increasing your BF% -just- because you're bulking.

its simple really, think you're too fat? cut down cals by a little bit, rinse and repeat. dont overthink it, just do.

have i said i can deadlift 365? i said that i'm on my way to 365 and i said that give me 10 weeks
*
you probably dont see it, but making claims like that on an internet forums requires proof. Judging by your reputation in this forums, how many do you think would believe you would post the 365lbs vid?

at the very least start posting vids. your 335 would do fine for now.

its not as though we can meet you irl and actually see you do it.

and ive given up asking you for your 2xBW bench, since you said you gained weight, it would be a 120kg bench, which is HIGHLY improbable given that you couldnt provide a 100kg bench.

Anyway, you, with all your misc talk, should know better. This is the internet, waving your numbers around without proof means nothing.

Notice that nobody here makes a claim of a lift without being ready to prove it. Its only fair when someone calls you out on a particular lift u would provide proof. Its integrity, if nothing else. Back up your statements with irrefutable proof and you'll get respect. Its as easy as that.

I certainly hope you can post something. Ain't no vids lately makes the forums a dull place..

lol no. u stop making claims of lifts you cant back up with vids.

and dipping 5 plates? seriously? back that up i dare you.

edit: oh lol, the chain dip belt. been using it for months now, thought it up myself albeit mine is slightly different configuration. mine is used with the lifting belt, but not hanging from the belt itself. i'll take a pic when i do pull ups next week.

guys guys, i just squat at the smith machine, with sissy pad, then one big guy look at me with weird face, did i do it wrong? can i actually squat using smith machine or must i use squat rack or power rack...
*
what you did wrong, was to doubt yourself.

stare at him back! with an even weirder face!

smith squats are legit, but some dont like/recommend it.

i find them to be hugely uncomfortable, prefer the normal squat variations
