looking to upgrade HU and the 4 speakers with something better sounding, better clarity

- My ride: 2009 Viva
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: ?
- File format/medium used for my source: Bluetooth, Spotify
- Music genre: general pop hits/classic
- Budget: 1500
- Setup type preferences: 1 din, clean setup
just curious, does the Viva lower compartment fit a double din? not that I want it just asking

- My ride: PROTON IRIZ 1.6P
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: ?
- File format/medium used for my source: currently using radio and wifi for youtube.
- Music genre: all those play by our local radio.
- Budget: Not allocate yet. Still waiting current HU price. ~RM1k+-
- Setup type preferences: Stock is double din 6.2". But from my finding, can get in 6.9" universal.
- Other requirements (if any): Upgrade. Mirror link. Steering control. Reverse camera must be working.

Currently have survey Azur RM699 from Brothers.

Their Kenwood price is RM1k+ but not sure which size. Seem like >7"

Doesn't matter the brand as long as the features and and sound quality are better than stock.

pricing is high due to our conversion rate. can't expect good price nowadays if ur looking at reputable brands... usually for HU ppl won't go wrong with Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine. JVC, Blaupunkt, Sony and Clarion is better valued for money, but some don't come with fancy lightings or designs. interface wise also not so cool as well. Not all supports FLAC file too, so u need to check on that as well.  thumbsup.gif

another question... if compared to pioneer and kenwood, Sony isnt quite mentioned alot alongside those 2 brands and is not really favoured from the posts that Ive read so far..is there a reason for this or is Sony just regarded as an entry-level type of head unit? Pretty keen on the Sony XAV-V630BT I saw on fasmoto which gives me bluetooth capabilities and plus labour and all the extra installation trim kit, fits my budget of rm1000

well i'm not sure on why this is so. It seems like sony is not known for its car audio products. Have not tested Sony audio products before so I can't comment much on the SQ or the interface. From what I heard the Sony's HU interface is not as good as other brands. hmm.gif Very few ppl in this subforum so can't get better advice from sifus over here sweat.gif

If not so fussy type and budget..can go for Sony lahh.. but don't expect the greatest of all.. I also was into Sony as it's quite budget type of player.. perhaps if just an upgrade for daily listening.. shouldn't be any prob.. most audiophile ppl still prefer Pioneer eventhough Sony has come up with their high res audio player which I don't see much in malaysia... price is also a killer...

Sony player will only ngam with Sony speakers and amp..

thanks akallen, yup im just looking to upgrade from my daily listening, just to link phone to radio via bluetooth and play spotify and put in a usb stick..my current stock suzuki radio doesnt have the aux audio option/usb drive. This Sony one, including the trim kit/panel and wiring all, just comes nicely around my budget of rm1000 rclxms.gif

Hi all,

What is a good set of component speakers that have good bass for the new Honda City? Budget around RM500.. I saw some JBLs around this price range..

Also, if I install an underseat woofer, will there be any wiring modification needed that would void the warranty? (e.g wire cutting)

Thanks!

hmm.gif that totally depends on your needs. Whether you're an avid music lover who focuses on sound reproduction or just a casual listener who is just looking for an upgrade over stock speaker. Budget is also another thing. smile.gif I have upgraded my front speakers for my Pero2 ride. There is no padding on stock doors FYI for Perodua (my ride at least) laugh.gif

- Your ride Proton Inspira 1.8 MT
- Prefer SQ/SPL/SQL ? sound quality should be at least on par if not better than my stock HU
- File format/medium used in your source MP3, CD. I also used bluetooth often
- Genre of music you listen to Rock, Metal, Techno or any song that good to hear and has soul
- Setup type preferences 7inch screen
- Other requirements (if any) Just want to have good value & fair quality HU. Prefers it to come with GPS & if possible, camera (or at least it able to support when i wanna install camera later). And it support my steering switch control. Budget around RM1k to RM1.5k. Not sure if the budget too low or too high. I'm totally noob in this. Ty all sifus

hmm.gif 1-1.5k you can take a look at Pioneer/Kenwood ones. However the ones that come with GPS is gonna increase the budget to almost 2k already notworthy.gif

- My ride: Saga FLX 1.3
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQ
- File format/medium used for my source: Usb, Spotify
- Music genre: metal, rock, instrumentals
- Budget: 500-1.5k
- Setup type preferences: not sure on this.

Was thinking of retaining current HU and upgrading front/back speakers to deliver better sound quality. Is this advisable or should I change the HU first before speakers?

Thanks.
