that depends on how hard core are you into audio. If you're already playing with home audio and headphones/IEMs with amps, chances are you will be only satisfied with an amp to power your speakers in ur car :Dlow grade stock speakers don't benefit much from amps but i think aftermarket speakers do benefit from amps... but difference in terms of what need to consult ICE sifu here d. Like me, I might think that my components and entry lvl HU are already a huge improvement from the stock speakers... but one will not be certain on what improvements an amp will give... especially what amps that bring the best performance out from ur upgraded speakers... One can only listen to the A/B test to know for sure... or any experienced ICE enthusiasts. Ppl like me which are not experienced and do not a much ICE shops in my area only can rely on forums for more insight

Hi Guys! I am new to ICE, thinking of adding a sub woofer for more bass.
After some googling, I am interested on JL Audio 10W3V3 and JL Audio XD300/1v2.
Any recommended shop selling JL Audio and good in installation?

Personal opinion.. I don't think u really need an amp tho...
It should be sufficient unless u want it to be more powerful lahh... unless u add a monoblock and a woofer tho..

powerful is not really my primary aim here though. I am looking for a cleaner sound,fuller and higher detail, a better separation of instruments and beats and perhaps less distortion? perhaps a more defined low mids and mids. Will an amp give these improvements?

not sure over in that area though. EA autoworks is a great place for audio installation. Hishly recommended. Been to sh0rty5's shop in klang, Very friendly and recommended too.

Purpose of amp from my understanding it makes things louder...
Unless if u wanna put 6x9 speakers at rear.. then it's advisable to put amp

Jl audio not easy to find lahhh... and Jl audio ain't cheap

well I'm not sure how loud is loud and I don't dare to turn the volume knob to max to see the max volume. but without amp I find that at around volume 15 only can provide me with the oomph needed to listen to music. That's with loudness and bass boost on to max. I heard that loudness and bass boost also makes the sound not natural and should be remained off if possible. Perhaps the sound could be tuned better with an amp.

Of course as loudness and bass boost are enhancement tools tho.. u can play around with it tho...just don't set as max lahh..hahahah

Hi everyone! I am interested to change my stock radio head unit to maybe a double DIN one which enables me to connect my iphone or flash drive to play mp3. Not really particular about the brand whether its Kenwood or Pioneer etc. Not sure if there's any mirrorlink-enabled headunits which go below rm1000..Appreciate any recommendations given, thanks

pricing is high due to our conversion rate. can't expect good price nowadays if ur looking at reputable brands... usually for HU ppl won't go wrong with Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine. JVC, Blaupunkt, Sony and Clarion is better valued for money, but some don't come with fancy lightings or designs. interface wise also not so cool as well. Not all supports FLAC file too, so u need to check on that as well.

yeah sigh our money is low these days, but yeah was considering between pioneer or kenwood, thanks man appreciate it!
