Hey everyone, I'm waiting to take delivery of my new Exora Premium, once the loan's approved... And while I have no issues with the stock Clarion player that comes with the MPV, what is good should I decide to upgrade it in future?

And at the same time, as for the sound, it's always better to make sure I have an amplifier placed before upgrading the speakers, right? So what is recommended then?

Sound proofing front door would be nice too. But if you have to lum all that into 1k, then you might need to go a level down on the speakers.

Suggest you keep 1k for speakers, and top up for the front doors soundproofing.

Now where to go to? Suggest some shops near your house, or browse through LYN looking for some installer sharing.

Thanks for your feedback.
OK...I have decided to make this a diy project since changing front speakers only.
Choice of speakers still undecided of the following :
1. Dominations Buddy ( I think the elite is above 1k?)
2. DLS C6A
2. German Maestro CS 6508
Would like to ask if anyone here knows where I can buy this in KL / Selangor (Cash & Carry) or even reputable online sellers.

No ideas on online seller selling these brands, or brand new speakers.

But if you are dealing online, then just take precaution on item manufacture...if it is ori.

I think DLS have fakes, but not sure about Domi or GM.

Hi all need some input on changing HU with no cutting of wires, original fitting without modification if possibble. also car comes with two camera front and rear, the front will activate when put in D for 1 min or so. also there is button to activate the front camera during parking in d mode. (so need to be compatible with this function)

My ride: Toyota Alphard 2009 (ANH20)
Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: Any
File format/medium used for my source: Bluetooth and USB.
Music genre: Any
Budget: 1k-1.5k (any idea how much?)

Hi guys, need help on a single DIN HU recommendations. Was previously using a Pioneer DEH-P5750MP for about 10 years on one of this old car of mine. Some parts of the player was broken and replacement parts are on back order from Pioneer MY. Temporarily got an old Alpine CDE-121 to fix in my car. Sounds okay... but my previous Pioneer DEH-P5750MP sounds wayyy better. Thinking of selling off the Alpine cheap and upgrade to a new Pioneer unit.

Other info such as the following will also be helpful to get faster and more accurate responses:
- Perodua Kelisa
- Prefer SQ
- File format/medium: mp3 - USB/CD
- Genre: All
- Setup type preferences: Direct drive 4-coaxial speakers, 1 under seat sub. I do not crank up on the volume, do not want hard thumping bass but
- Budget: <RM800 for head unit
- Other requirements: install head unit own self, only driver in car, would consider amp/speaker upgrade in future if necessary...

Was looking at Pioneer DEH-X6750BT or DEH-X3750UI. Either HU any good or are there better recommendations?

Hi guys, getting a new car and am currently considering changing the sound system, because I tested the sound system during test drive and it was sub-par. Need some advice on this matter please.

A little background, I love listening to music and have a bunch of audiophile headphones. Clarity and detail retrieval is much preferred to bass for me, and i don't require high SPL as i listen to music at rather low volumes. So considering sound deadening as well.

I listen to almost everything, examples include Beethoven, Mozart, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Beatles, Tame Impala, Radiohead, Wilco, Kishi Bashi, RATM to Rammstein.

In case it helps, my headphones include Denon D7000, Sennheiser HD650, AKG K701, and AKG K240.

- My ride: Honda Jazz 2014 E spec
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQ, tend to listen at low volumes so don't need those super high wattage ones.
- File format/medium used for my source: FLAC, APE, CUE. Have a good Fiio music player so will most likely use Aux or even Coax if HU has a better DAC.
- Music genre: Jazz, Classical, Alternative, Rammstein
- Budget: Not sure how much it's going to cost, 3k?
- Setup type preferences: Don't really understand the advantages of each
- Other requirements (if any):

I'm thinking that if i use my Fiio music player, the amp and speakers would be more important than the HU right? unsure about this.

Based in Malacca.

Edit: To clarify on what i thought of the stock sound. In the short listen, there was no separation, sound was muddy and all over the place. Can't expect soundstage to be good in a car, but it was very underwhelming overall.

- File format: Unsure, as long as can play music from my phone (S6)
- Genre: No preference
- Setup type preferences: Don't have any preference
- Budget: Below RM2,000-00 including installation
- Other requirements: 1. Want to retain steering controls; 2. Don't want to void warranty; 3. Android Auto compatibility; 4. Planning to install reverse camera so compatibility is a must also.

Thanks in advance for the generous advise! Much appreciated. notworthy.gif

Why on earth do you need 2 sets of the same component speaker? Go with package 1 la. But personally I wouldn't use that unknown amp and that Focal component.

Are you going to DIY? If not where do you stay? Easier to go to a reputable installer rather than asking you to go find brand X and Y.
