Hi guys, getting a new car and am currently considering changing the sound system, because I tested the sound system during test drive and it was sub-par. Need some advice on this matter please.

A little background, I love listening to music and have a bunch of audiophile headphones. Clarity and detail retrieval is much preferred to bass for me, and i don't require high SPL as i listen to music at rather low volumes. So considering sound deadening as well.

I listen to almost everything, examples include Beethoven, Mozart, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Beatles, Tame Impala, Radiohead, Wilco, Kishi Bashi, RATM to Rammstein.

In case it helps, my headphones include Denon D7000, Sennheiser HD650, AKG K701, and AKG K240.

- My ride: Honda Jazz 2014 E spec
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQ, tend to listen at low volumes so don't need those super high wattage ones.
- File format/medium used for my source: FLAC, APE, CUE. Have a good Fiio music player so will most likely use Aux or even Coax if HU has a better DAC.
- Music genre: Jazz, Classical, Alternative, Rammstein
- Budget: Not sure how much it's going to cost, 3k?
- Setup type preferences: Don't really understand the advantages of each
- Other requirements (if any):

I'm thinking that if i use my Fiio music player, the amp and speakers would be more important than the HU right? unsure about this.

Based in Malacca.

Edit: To clarify on what i thought of the stock sound. In the short listen, there was no separation, sound was muddy and all over the place. Can't expect soundstage to be good in a car, but it was very underwhelming overall.
