I only have 1 gripe - - I so wish the cordless phone (?) could be placed somewhere else in the house. I didn't know it was "attached" to the Unifi unit. Everytime someone wants to make free calls, they will come into my room. I really don't want wires running out of my room into another room.  sad.gif

If your DECT phone is Motorola brand, you can buy an extension DECT phone that you can place it anywhere your house and leave the base unit in your room. Other brand should work as well but may not use all the phone features. My base unit is in my store room with BTU and I have 2 extension units, 1 each for downstair and upstair.

yes & yes.

dining room:
router -> plug -> power socket

ur room:
power socket -> plug -> ur pc

how far is the 2 room apart anyway?
coz i dont think it's worth it compared to just old fashion direct cat5e cable.

u mean how far is my dining and my room? actually juz a wall apart.
but my mom does not want to bore a hole, and I'm affraid a wilress adapter cannot provide stable line.
and I have another laptop at another room, around 15 meter away, I think wilress is weak there.

it's a tiny hole, then u can patch the hole.
if got carpet, can hide under carpet.
if got ceiling, go through ceiling.

I want to know if there is student package for unifi vip20?

And what are the terms and conditions for subscribing to unifi. Me and 9 housemates are staying in a house and none of them want to use their name/IC to register and they keep calling me to use my name to register. I told them maybe I will move out from this house in few months time. Can someone tell me more bout it why they don't want to use their name?
