From thinking of moving to 4Mbps Streamyx, to now Unifi. I am thinking if I go Unifi, why not get VIP 10 - it will be a major speed boost from 1Mbps. RM199 is RM111 more than my current RM88 package, while VIP 5 is RM149 (RM61 more).

Cunning TM to set the price of VIP 5 so close to 4Mbps Streamyx. Sneaky.

The major pain is that there will be some work to be carried out and of course, the 2-year contract - - unhappy with the service etc. etc. either have to complaint until fixed. Can't run away.

What say you Unifi folks? Worth it or not... or will I regret and just stick with my meager laugh-out-loud 1Mbps package?

My usage - - gaming, online video streaming and of course downloads. Will be sharing the connection with, total 3 users.

Free 1-month subscription fee is not applicable for upgrading Streamyx to UniFi during Super Speed Me promotion period.

i guess free 1 month is more worthwhile. e.g. rm149 vs rm9 x 3months (assuming you upgrade from streamyx blockbuster 4mbps to vip 5mpbs).

Totally worth it. Torrenting via a 1 mbps internet connection is a pain the ass after TM throttled it. Until now I've no issues with VIP 5. I'm a happy user, as long as there is no quota imposed yet. smile.gif

i just receive sms ask me to view my bill on https://occ.unifi.my. I thought the bill will sent to my hotmail. For some reason i cant login to the site. I press forgot password but no email sent by tm to reset the password. Im think maybe TM enter wrong email detail for my unifi application.

Should i call 100 and ask them to give me the pw and id or is it possible to ask them double check the email address in their database?

Lol, "for now" ? I mean sure Streamyx has its bad days, so if you're saying it's the same for Unifi, I get it. tongue.gif

VIP 10 is quite pricey for me, RM199. I am in the verge of either going VIP 5 or VIP 10, but weighing in on whether I need the extra 5Mbps for my usage.

5Mbps = what is the max speed achievable for P2P using VIP 5? Right now for 1Mbps, I get 110kbps max.

Had been waiting for Unifi since 2 months ago (my neighbours got Unifi coverage since last year but not my house, don't know why), they promised that my house will get Unifi coverage before March but till now no news although I contacted them. sad.gif

i'll be upgrading from RM66 package. so the difference will be (83 x 3 = 249), which is more worthwhile than 1 mth RM149. i guess that answers my qns. haha

Just across the street (less than 50 metres) but there is a big Unifi box behind my house.

You do.
Believe me, I'm already using VIP 10 and yet I'm still thinking of upgrading to VIP 20.

Of course upgrading from streamyx to unifi will be worth it PROVIDED that you got cash to pay more and no caps.
