There's a new Wireless Gigabit Router from TP-Link. Was hoping someone could tell me if this router can be used to replace the stock D-Link UNiFi router. TP-Link TL-WR2543ND450Mbps Dual-Band Wireless N (2.4GHz & 5GHz) Gigabit Router Official Website:http://www.tp-link.com.my/products/details...del=TL-WR2543ND

QUOTE(Neptern @ Mar 31 2012, 07:47 PM) Wonder what's the price, too bad my 841 haven't break yet. Hope Klseet sees this and work on the firmware somehow Cheapest I've seen so far in this forum is RM209. Though without UNiFi functionality, TP-Link TL-WR2543ND is rather useless. QUOTE(wen9x88 @ Mar 31 2012, 11:07 PM) really, when ? Now, until 30 June 2012 http://www.tm.com.my/superspeedme/Pages/home.aspxI'm thinking of upgrading my VIP 10 to VIP 20. Though lots of my friends said the same thing: "Do you really need the 2MB/s"?

QUOTE(Neptern @ Apr 1 2012, 03:04 AM) Hard to downgrade after upgrading That's the thing. 2MB/s will cut my current download speed in half since now I'm already using VIP 10. I believe torrents will enjoy the full speed of the 2MB/s now that direct download is nearly dead. But I'm afraid when I want to downgrade later, TM will give lots of excuses no to allow me. PS: Is it true torrent doesn't eat the download cap? Yes I know the cap hasn't been implemented, but it will be sooner or later. Just hoping they don't cap torrents as well.

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Apr 14 2012, 05:51 PM) VIP 10 is quite pricey for me, RM199. I am in the verge of either going VIP 5 or VIP 10, but weighing in on whether I need the extra 5Mbps for my usage. You do. Believe me, I'm already using VIP 10 and yet I'm still thinking of upgrading to VIP 20.

QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Apr 14 2012, 07:54 PM) bro..if u think VIP 5 is enough..sure can de...i also using VIP 5..more than enough.. for VIP 5 torrent max speed i can get 640kb/s And I'm getting 1.2MB/s downloading torrent. Yet it still take a few hours to complete the download of a full hd movies. That's why I'm thinking of upgrading. An extra RM50 for another 10Mb/s. LOL. QUOTE(jolmy @ Apr 15 2012, 09:48 AM) Perhaps you might want to try use the official firmware that supports UniFi? http://www.tp-link.com.my/support/download...ersion=V1#tbl_jThe TL-WR1043ND_V1_120210 firmware also can use for UNiFi or only TL-WR1043ND_V1_110906?

QUOTE(jolmy @ Apr 15 2012, 06:33 PM) I believe the newer one can, but not sure about it. You may try it out, otherwise, if not then flash it with the older one. I'm still using the original D-Link DIR-615 from UNiFi. I'm thinking of upgrading into WR1043ND, but after seeing so many complaints on the official WR1043ND thread, I'm not so sure anymore.

QUOTE(patienceGNR @ Apr 15 2012, 07:10 PM) I'm not sure how much that one is but why don't you try opting for ASUS RT N13U (to me that price range router is good enough) I need gigabit lan, so ASUS RT-N13U is a definite no-no. I'm thinking of ASUS RT-N16.

QUOTE(sanzo_reload @ Apr 17 2012, 11:50 PM) Especially, I mainly download from mediafire. What kind of download manager are you using to download from MediaFire? I'm using Internet Download Manager (IDM) & I can get full speed of my VIP 10. Try and download from MediaFire using a download manager like IDM or FDM (Free Download Manager). If you're not getting 1.0MB/s ~ 1.5MB/s, then something is definitely wrong with your UNiFi connection. This post has been edited by sHawTY: Apr 18 2012, 01:32 AM

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ Apr 18 2012, 09:55 AM) Will IDM/FDM speed-up Rapidshare as well? I'm using JDownloader and Rapidhshare free cap at 30KB/s. If you have a premium account, yes. If you don't have a premium account, no.

QUOTE(memphiz_zero88 @ Apr 20 2012, 08:37 PM) wanna ask about unifi. now i'm living in an apartment. during pc fair, i got explanation about unifi for high-rise building. the staff say just need to connect phone cable. but when I checked back, my home doesn't have port for the phone cable.is that mean I can't install unifi? Ask TM. They will give you a definite answer. Call UNiFi hotline at 1 300 88 1222 for new subscribers.

QUOTE(Ataraxis @ Apr 20 2012, 11:02 PM) hey guys, on wireless connection to vip 5 unifi, may i know which wireless usb adapter would u all recommend to maximise the speed? hopefully its reasonably priced too. i heard there are 2 types, G(54M) or N (150M)? so i should get an adapter with any of these 2 specifications? Are you using laptop or desktop? If you're using desktop, the best choice is to buy a PCI / PCI-E WiFi adaptor if you want maximum transfer speed through WiFi.

QUOTE(Ataraxis @ Apr 21 2012, 12:48 AM) yeah im using desktop. my unifi modem will be upstairs and my pc desktop will be downstairs. apprx 15 meters apart counting from window to window Then your best choice is to use PCI / PCI-E WiFi card. Nowadays you can buy a 300Mb/s PCI-e WiFi card from as low as RM39 from eBay: http://goo.gl/fsnIiThis post has been edited by sHawTY: Apr 21 2012, 11:20 AM

Anyone in here can help terminate a Streamyx account without any penalty? My father wants to upgrade to Maxis Fibre 10Mbps. His Streamyx is less than 1 year, so still in contract.

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ May 28 2012, 04:11 PM) Upgrade to Unifi can, upgrade to Maxis confirm need penalty. I know that. And I'm already using UNiFi. Right now talking about my father's house. I heard somewhere there are some people who can help terminate Streamyx/UNiFi without penalty.
