yea lor.. but bigger sensor has its advantages too.. with fx, i can consider changing my 35mm to 50mm.. hahaha.. then i have an actual "nifty fifty" wakakakaa..

actually the lack of motor not a major turn off for me.. for me, it's the sensor size vs the costs of future lenses~~ too used to dx lens price.. suddenly see fx lens.. *cries*

i have 35mm 1.8 and 85mm 1.4 (samyang) and it's really useful.. with this 2, i seldom use the kit lens unless the place is really cramped and i really neededthe 18mm or if i shooting some events (e.g., convocation) where the amount of people in a shot changes frequently and there aren't much room to maneuver..

basically, most of the time, i find the 35 and 85 covers most of the focal length that I need.. just zoom with my legs.. i'm on a dx btw..

if you really want 2 primes, then get 35 1.8 and 85 1.4 lor.. the 85 needed the extra stop more because of the lack of vr.. unless you want better IQ and bokeh on the 35..

if i own a eos 7d, i think there are multiple instances where i would have already moved on to another life, and the eos 7d still alive and kicking..

once it's smaller than f/2.0, means zooms are totally out of the case.. seems like it's going to be a challenging wedding job? haha

jz jk.. keke.. yeah.. the mind-fucuk when we realize their true gender right? my company annual dinner for 2 years ago was some cosplay too.. there was this guy who dressed as Kadaj.. i totally couldn't recognize him as my colleague anymore.. when he slowly remove his make up and wig, only he start to resemble the colleague that we know.. haha

@sai86: is that lens the 35mm 1.8g?
i own that lens as well, and that lens is very prone to ghosting like that.. it's definitely caused by the internal reflection of the (probably cheap) uv filter.. it happens to me as well.. when reach night or when there are strong light sources like that, i would usually remove the filter before taking the shots..
if you check again your "weird" lights, they are the light sources in your pictures.. the 3rd one have 2 long lines that is the reflection from the fluorescent light.

ya, most likely like other sifu said, flare from filter  unsure.gif
and is that me or the picture is not so "focus"? slow shutter speed? unsure.gif
*
I think it's the lens is at wide open.. so only the selected item would be in focus, while the rest will be slightly OOF

my sifu taught me not to use filters at all no matter how good it is, in studio settings cos all the lights there will mess up the images tongue.gif
*
How i wish i can get rid of the paranoia in me.. i kept thinking "what if shit happens" and i kept using filters.. only when i am taking some shots with weird lightings, or long exposure, or when sharpness is critical, i'll remove the filter.. else for day-to-day usage, i keep the filter on.. just in case.. hahahaha

----

by the way is that sai86 ask be before for the 35mm worth to buy?
i know a lot people ask me 35mm worth to buy or not and i straight direct them to forum and my 35mm fb album and others using 35mm  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
i got 1 35mm album also.. i would say it's worth buying, if you know what limitations you would be going through.. mainly my gripe about it is the harsh bokeh and weird ghostings.. otherwise, it's a fantastic lens for me.. smile.gif wish they had a distance scale though.. kekeke

i can go for a lot of outings, with just the 35mm on the camera.. it's like an all rounder lens for me.. esp for trips.. not for events though.. events, still zooms are more versatile..

edit: i like it when the thread is active like this smile.gif

Harsh bokeh and weird ghostings? You sure you're looking at pics from the 35mm f/1.4 and not from the 50mm f/1.4?
*
Mine is a 35mm 1.8g.. the 1.4 has stellar performance.. wakaka.. i cannot afford that glass le.. using 1.8g only.. despite that.. it's still the lens that is almost always on my camera.. smile.gif

I only have issues with the primary colors usually.. the red, blue and yellow.. which i will lower down the luminance by 15 and then desaturate by 5 if i have those strong colors in my pictures..

oo ok .. u mean under develop module > camera calibration > adobe standard and such ... ok will try that ... thanks
btw, does taking a picture in raw affected by in-camera's D-lighting? ... should I turn on or off while shooting? ...my thinking is that shooting in raw 'ignores' any setting in camera.  blush.gif
*
I not sure about that. but I usually turn it off because I feel image is punchier without the d-lighting.
