spam pictures of me testing the wide open "bokeh" of my lenses.
all shot from the same distance and cropped to get the same size comparison.. I think I prefer the middle image because it is not as distracting as the right, but doesn't lose all background information like the left.. sometimes, too much bokeh isn't really too nice? hahaha Warning: Large image.. because I don't know how to get the average sized picture from FB. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by tctham: Mar 29 2012, 06:36 PM |

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Apr 22 2012, 11:58 AM) yeah.. that one agreed.. i think the 50mm have mfd of 45cm.. even that i feel a tad too far.. if stand up or leave the chair, then it's still possible to shoot the food picture.. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 22 2012, 12:34 PM) hmm, the 45cm means from sensor to food right? the size is the same.. but i have encountered situation where the 35mm also had difficulty of taking picture of the food in front of me.. (because i was sitting against the wall and there was a lot of people at the table.. hard to shift things around).. so i was thinking, if i had issues with the 35mm, i'd probably going to have more difficulty with the 50mm.. the 50mm is an awesome lens.. undeniably.. but the angle of view is not that suitable for me.. with the 35mm, i only have that issue of insufficient space like once in a blue moon, but most of the time it's just right.. that's why i skipped the 50mm despite having better IQ and etc..not from front of lens to food? if the first one, then means the front of lens to food is around 30cm...not that bad. plus if compare 35mm and 50mm, even tho 35mm got closer MFD, but image size on both are the same cos almost same reproduction ratio. just that 50mm will have less distortion. as much as i dont like it, crumpler 5 million home should fit. |

QUOTE(hidden830726 @ Apr 23 2012, 06:59 PM) To be frank, im started to lose patient with D800 too, no stock, + issue, some said no problem, but some said just ignorance by Nikon for denying the truth. Personally if i had your budget to splurge while waiting, i'd go for the fujifilm x100 as a street camera.. no need change lens.. just right for most outing also.. i dunno what will i do if i have 2 systems with interchangeable lens.. @_@ confused.. hahaha~So the best option is to skip D800 and D4 for now. A good, low shutter count - used D3s make many sense. However, seriously thinking of getting a street camera, E.g. OM-D, first while waiting D800 to get fix and stock. But not much advice my friend can giv eme, all DSLR gear head and non M43 fans This post has been edited by tctham: Apr 23 2012, 08:07 PM |
