Hahaha you should see the D400 speculation thread, everyone there  when the D600 rumour came out cause there was a FX-DX debate. I await this eagerly cause I wanna go FX without the high cost. Need the high ISO for concerts.

i am considering the 50mm1.8g becoz it is lower in price... later if i need the extra 2/3 stop.. then only think about spending that extra 1k

if i mostly shoot at f2.8 for the 50mm... i think the 1.8g is good enough

plus for the price for a 50mm 1.4g.. can get a 85mm 1.8g... 

Well, personally not a feature that I specifically looked for but nice to have. Now I have to re-train myself because last time with D700, you would frame it differently as compared to the D800 which will capture exactly what you see in the viewfinder.
Ah, that explains why they are pushing the other lenses...  Did they push to you the 24mm f/1.4?
The AF and metering is indeed better. 
Well, the 35mm f/1.4 isn't exactly Honda pricing, if you know what I mean...
Don't understand... What special skills do you need to have when shooting with the 14-24? To me, it's just the same as any other UW lens.

Actually there's no right or wrong lah. But generally those are the rules to follow. I've seen great photos also that break a lot of conventional rules.

ya i know there is no specific rule, i just wan ask what is his feel if chop off hands... or add back hands....there is some reason like we wan include or exclude something in photograph. just wan ask the reason behind and take note

guys... decided on getting a thinktank soon. well, before purchase, would like to know anything to lookabout? what i would wanna know is that are they counterfeits in the market for thinktank? doesn't wanna being con into buying fakes yet paying for the ori price... it's different if i'm paying for a fakes pricing and get fakes u know... 

or any good dealer/distributor/shops to recommend on getting thinktank from?

Speaking about the 17mm TSE, Nikon apparently is going to make one as well as other lenses.

I've been seeing samples of the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro lens lately. Nothing short of superb. The latest ones come with OS / VR. Perhaps you should aim for that one.
When you pan, you almost always have to break the 1/focal length rule i.e. shutter speed slower than what is normally allowed for hand holding without VR. 
Practice lor... When you pan, press your camera to your face, pull in your arms closer to your body and your whole upper part of the body right down to your waist moves from left to right (or right to left). Not just with your hands alone. Try to follow and pan the same speed as your subject. Fire continuous shots

With wide angle, it's usually much easier to pan but to get more effect, you need to be very close to the subject which can be dangerous at times.
Depends... If your VR is version 2 or the latest one, it should detect horizontal or vertical panning motion and compensate for it.
Yup. Active is for shooting in helicopter or on the boat.
