Bought myself the new 2009 Lego Crawler Crane set 7632 from Brickboys MV today. I really liked the fact it looks like a real crawler crane and having a look at the real thing in Gardens, I felt it was worth it.

The contents of the box. The box is OVERSIZED again, typical of Legos. Lego could have save shipping cost and shelf/storage space but again, having a HUGE box to attract ppl seems a better idea. Lot of air inside the box doh.gif Note to Lego: Learn from Tomica or Ikea on how to pack stuff.

You get:-
1) 2 nos of Number 1 bags
2) 1 nos of Number 2 bag
3) 1 nos of Number 3 bag
4) 1 nos of Number 4 bag
5) 1 nos of not-numbered bag
6) Thick 90 page manual shocking.gif
7) Sticker sheet

A page from the manual with some basic do and don't. Now they go by packages to keep the construction simple and easy. No one big bag of stuff and looking for 1 darn peg in a mountain of bricks

Parts list so that you can keep track of the bricks after you mixed all of them up (like many of my sets in the store doh.gif )

Some preview of upcoming 2009 sets. Got farm set also. Harvester looks good! brows.gif

The back page, some new models perhaps?

I just opened the box, have not started constructing the thing yet. Will post pic of it when it is completed.

I've opened a LEGO eSTORE (registered with SSM) as a part time thing... It's not a traditional Brick and Mortar store though.

Watch this space. Would update you once the stocks have arrive.

http://brickbastion.com

Items are AT LEAST 10% off retail prices. No special membership fees required.

cheers! smile.gif

I think the reason they stopped selling the runway plates is because the new planes like 7734 are too big for the old runway plates. The runway plates are more suited for planes like 7732 and for the old airports.

Even the new airport with the large airplane does not come with runway plates!!!!

No need to come and collect lar. Would deliver to your doorstep via Pos Laju (you can track the item online), so far have not lost any packages with this service, whether I am sending or receiving. Quite reliable.

Would put shrink wrap, and put it into a box with lots of padding..

If you can't find the set, let me know the set number, would try to hunt for it.

Some of the classic Legos which I have, but either still in storeroom or missing doh.gif

Managed to find the majority of the pieces, but yet to find the runway and road base plate doh.gif not to mention 3 out of 4 jet engines.

Metro Park and Service Tower 6394. Parking Garage with working elevator, car wash, Shell petrol station (prefer Shell compared to Octan) and several cars to go with it!

One thing I like about classic Lego is that you are building stuff out of ordinary pieces and not specialize pieces unlike now. Like the airplane; the front part is made out of several normal bricks.

Here are the legomen (and ladies) from both sets. Oh, the car wash brushes are from the car park set. laugh.gif

The eldorado set? Nice!

oh.. you are missing the plume. I can check whether I have. The 3 feathers red plumes are rather rare though. I do have many normal liver shape plumes.... if you are interested.

The new pirate sets have different sort of plumes. Look nicer and more appropriate. The old pirate sets have plumes that are plucked direct from castle theme. Not quite suitable.

As for the Clipper... pretty hard to get noways. Keep trying! I would check with my brother whether he is willing to sell his. He is somewhere in Europe now...smile.gif

Hey... you are welcome to upload the pics of your collection to the gallery. I have so much disk space sitting idle there...

These are real classic sets and are great fun to build! I'm sure you have more, snap some photos and upload them lah!

Spot on! LEGO these days have more specialized pieces especially the SW theme sets. Lots of "technic" pieces in them also.

Missing engine? Just tilt the aircraft in a certain angle, no one would notice lar. The picture you uploaded here also seem to have 3 engines only thumbup.gif

Added on February 4, 2009, 11:00 pmGuys,

Have any recommendations for a display rack to display all the LEGO sets?

Been searching high and low for quite some time now... still unable to find a REALLY suitable one. vmad.gif

tswern ,

yeah, the plumes...that word seems to evade me every time...

anyhoo...i will def get the set back from my gf cos shes renewing my love for lego for me at the momment!

bsides the eldorado, i also have the 6267-lagoon lock-up and the 6265-Sabre Island (Governors Bastion).

these r extremely fun and im only missing the clipper really to make a kickass dio...sad.gif

the ikea detolf is a fan fav when it comes to displaying their collection, though their a bit small and would probably fit a lego city police headquarters only (rough idea for u:)
