That ruler in the picture is 12 inches long.

Edit: I checked the links using Firefox and IE, all of them work. I think sometimes have trouble contacting the lego server.

My Arc Clone fighter has been gathering huge amount of dusts due to me keeping in pose on top of my wardrobe for so long. So today I decided to disassemble the whole thing and wash the pieces. Now all of them are being dried.

Bought myself the new 2009 Lego Crawler Crane set 7632 from Brickboys MV today. I really liked the fact it looks like a real crawler crane and having a look at the real thing in Gardens, I felt it was worth it.

The front of the box

The back
user posted image

The contents of the box. The box is OVERSIZED again, typical of Legos. Lego could have save shipping cost and shelf/storage space but again, having a HUGE box to attract ppl seems a better idea. Lot of air inside the box doh.gif Note to Lego: Learn from Tomica or Ikea on how to pack stuff.
user posted image

You get:-
1) 2 nos of Number 1 bags
2) 1 nos of Number 2 bag
3) 1 nos of Number 3 bag
4) 1 nos of Number 4 bag
5) 1 nos of not-numbered bag
6) Thick 90 page manual shocking.gif
7) Sticker sheet

A page from the manual with some basic do and don't. Now they go by packages to keep the construction simple and easy. No one big bag of stuff and looking for 1 darn peg in a mountain of bricks

Parts list so that you can keep track of the bricks after you mixed all of them up (like many of my sets in the store doh.gif )

Some preview of upcoming 2009 sets. Got farm set also. Harvester looks good! brows.gif

The back page, some new models perhaps?

I just opened the box, have not started constructing the thing yet. Will post pic of it when it is completed.

argh.... i thought i can get it separately for my son .. sad.gif  recently we bought 7732 and 7734 for him.. and looking forward to get runways for him ....
*
I think the reason they stopped selling the runway plates is because the new planes like 7734 are too big for the old runway plates. The runway plates are more suited for planes like 7732 and for the old airports.

Even the new airport with the large airplane does not come with runway plates!!!!

Some of the classic Legos which I have, but either still in storeroom or missing doh.gif

Managed to find the majority of the pieces, but yet to find the runway and road base plate doh.gif not to mention 3 out of 4 jet engines.

Metro Park and Service Tower 6394. Parking Garage with working elevator, car wash, Shell petrol station (prefer Shell compared to Octan) and several cars to go with it!

One thing I like about classic Lego is that you are building stuff out of ordinary pieces and not specialize pieces unlike now. Like the airplane; the front part is made out of several normal bricks.

Here are the legomen (and ladies) from both sets. Oh, the car wash brushes are from the car park set. laugh.gif

The price those days. Hankyu Jaya and Yaohan is no more now sad.gif So cheap somemore!

6358 has 151 pieces, which makes out to be around RM 0.19 per piece.
My crawler crane 7632 has 481 pieces and cost RM 269.90, which makes it around RM 0.56 per piece!!! shocking.gif shocking.gif
Lego Basic 715 has 395 pieces and cost RM 70.00, which makes it around RM 0.18 per piece!

Wow... still complete with kotaks. How u manage to simpan them for so long? Your wife din toss it out as rubbish ar?  shocking.gif

I remember I wanted to buy that fire engine set last time, but I dared not ask my mum for it.  blush.gif

Those days, we could do window shopping for LEGO in almost any supermarkets.
*
I still single-lah laugh.gif No wife or gf yet, so can spend money on toys whistling.gif

Well somehow this 3 sets managed to be stored in some kotak in the storeroom and never mix up with all the other pieces, hence still like new.

Last time I wanted the Lego Launch & Support Seaport with crane, container ship etc but that time it was too expensive cry.gif

Interesting to note that Lego has now tripled or more in price compared to last time.

Added on February 8, 2009, 1:02 amI decided to construct my vintage airport set today. I would say almost complete, but need some parts from other sets to make do with. Some key components are missing so if it look out of place, then there is something missing doh.gif (or I tambah laugh.gif )

The interior of the airport. Policeman manning X-ray machine next to center waiting area and counter area. Upstairs got a lounge with a table and 2 seats and the control tower (1 glass is missing, have to make do)
user posted image

Outside the passengers walk to the airplane. Some ppl looking at airplane behind the fence. Also the luggage is loaded onto the baggage cart.
user posted image

Time to board the airplane. The pilot greets the passengers while someone loads the luggage. Since there is no steps or ramp so need to climb into the cabin laugh.gif
user posted image

The layout inside the aircraft
user posted image

Once everything is ready, it's time to go!! The engine is at the bottom since I only have 1 jet engine! doh.gif
user posted image

As the plane takes off, the luggage cart heads back to the airport. The take-off is also observed by a helicopter pilot who just arrived

wow you really bought the set in Gardens. When I saw the price on that thing I wonder who will buy it sweat.gif

So far I see brickboy got some Legoes which cannot be found elsewhere and also the new 2009 Legoes. But I feel the best is the table (with water!!) with all the build-up Legos for you to see thumbup.gif

I think during that time, they have this police van set that have a siren or something. I wonder who has it?  hmm.gif

Wanted that set very badly.

you mean this one?

I have this set, but sadly missing the lights and the 9V battery leak into the whole battery compartment, rendering it useless cry.gif cry.gif

But I still have the siren and a "electronic" brick plate. The siren is still working though !!! thumbup.gif

8258 is the new 2009 set, I think 2nd half of the year only come, which means its time to start saving since it is rumoured to have 1800 pieces. With that many pieces the price will surely burst the bank!!! rclxub.gif

Btw, here are 2 reasons why classic Lego is the best.

4X4 vehicle with SUSPENSION!!!

I bought my crawler crane for RM 270.00 already I feel abit sakit hati to my wallet, let alone spending money for a 1000 RM technic set.

But I do agree with one thing, once you start, you cannot stop laugh.gif Especially now that you have the dough to buy them!!

Same as me, last time at toy shop I used to want 1 of the early 90s harbour set (Launch and Support Seaport) with crane, ship and dock, but can only look cry.gif

Now they dun even make the crane like the used too.

Btw, why do you need 2 Bulldozers and 2 Tow Trucks (8285) ? shocking.gif Even having ONE bulldozer is considered a great haul already!

Walao eh, LEGO is going to release some nice Star Wars set, Republic Dropship and AT-OT.

You guys can view it here:
http://borislim.blogspot.com/2009/02/lego-...c-dropship.html
*
This is seriously one very BIG set shocking.gif Lots of clones and the ability to do a AT drop (those with the AT-TE must be thinking on how to "mod" thier babies now laugh.gif )

Assuming it has 1758 pieces, at 80 sen per piece (SW sets are overpriced), that adds up to a whopping RM 1400!!!

The almost RM 3k UCS SW MF is around 55 sens per piece.

Hope Brickbastion will bring in some, we need more Lego sellers here (especially the BIG sets which are wayy overpriced and hard to get here).

I wonder if it is possible to post pictures of Duplo here. Duplo is Lego after all right?

Anyway, some vintage Duplo sets which I have

Train with locomotive. Comes with 2 guys (1 is AWOL) and has a piston attached to the front wheels like a real train.

.. and my biggest Duplo set, the Farm set from 84. Comes with cow, horse, pig and chickens, as well as a large barnhouse (1 of the pieces is 1 big solid piece with lots of room inside), escalator machine to transport goods up to the second level, windmill, tractor with tipper, chairs and table to yham char. There's even a trap door in the barn! Missing the white sheep cry.gif

Compared to today's Duplo farmset, this set is a million years better!!!

Met my account manager (she's a babe!), and for the first time in my life, saw a warehouse stacked with so much of LEGO! About 2-3 stories high! Next time, with their permission, would snap a photo. But most likely won't allowlar due to security concerns.
Wow... if that shipment got hijacked by Somali pirates, that's itlar.. sure a lot of sad LEGO fans in Malaysia. blink.gif

Got a box of catalogs too. Not sure whether it would be a good idea to scan and upload?
Errm.. really itchy hand already. I think I would probably open up a few sets for review this weekend. Lol.... For the time being, would put the pieces together in my dreams lar.
*
Wah, so much stock? shocking.gif Those stock for M'sia only or for Singapore and M'sia combine? I'm surprised to see that the demand for Lego here is so much. No wonder we get a Legoland thumbup.gif

For the catalog, I think can scan and upload, but for those released sets. Those unreleased one better dun show since it is like you leak the 2009 or even 2010 sets oledi. Dunno if it is legal to scan a dealer catalog though (all those leak images on the net are from dealer catalogs)

However if those catalogs can be obtained from retail anyway (like in TRU, Brickboy etc) and are meant for customers, then scan the whole thing.

As for opening a set to show us, well go ahead and open one!! You know you want to! Maybe for size comparison place it next to some other lego sets.

Was at Gardens today, Brickboy selling the Pirates set oledi, but they have not build any of the sets yet for display unsure.gif

P.S: try to know your account manager better brows.gif maybe can get discount for legos for us brows.gif
