Dear Sifuz, I haven't been cycling for almost 10years now.recently bought a New bike. Been cycling few times now.today I noticed a tick tick sound on the pedal area or crank area on each cycle I make.meaning d sound is cmin from below my seat area.can it be the chain? On X5 Sram. Is there a certain method to check?  Hope I can get some advice from here.thanks: )

ok i read wrongly,
whats does ur tick tick sound gotta do with letting us know you haven cycle for 10 years?
so i gonna assume you have no tools and diy capability.

anyway, teasing aside.... ur description is very subjective. can be anything and there is a lot of things down there.
best is send to a bike shop for troubleshooting.

if you have ur own tools. try narrow down from FD, to pedal, to crank and BB..

thanks dear forumers
i guess its best i send to shop
just that i want to know if anyone experience it before
so i can roughly know where does it come from and not get marketed to change
any thing on my bike from shop owners . smile.gif

Broadica : maybe i have a typo on my previous post
i was trying to say i used to cycle 10 years ago ..
means now my information and skills in riding is rusted
i just started riding again.this week is my 3rd week.cheers !

send to a bike shop is best option for you la..
unless u have the tools and like to tinker with ur bike then can try to narrow down urself.... its rather hard for us to pinpoint the issue over words

Ur case... can be BB bearing pecah... or chain grinding ur FD... or pedal bearing pecah...
unless specifically pin point the spot where it comes from.

Mine have similar problem on last ride. Apparently is the crank arm bolt loosen. And also worn out pedal bearing.

does it happen only when you are seated and goes away when you are standing on your pedals? if it does, perhaps you can check if the seatpost clamp is properly tightened. you may spray a light thin layer of lubricant on the bolts to see if it goes away.

try rebuild chain ring bolt if you have sufficient tools and knowledge to DIY.

this is like needle in haystack... you have the necessary bike tools?
if yes... go and tighten everything and narrow down the problem.

otherwise all the advice given is almost everything there edi... without proper tool u cant do anything.
at least try tightening those that u have tool to do...

or best just send to a bike shop
