Is anyone from sunway college ACCA?

Who is the best to choose for f4, f5 and f6?

Hope to have more description of lecturers if possible.

Tq. smile.gif
*
f4 - I guess you'd be better off self studying this paper..Tried both Pushpa and Lydia, ended up stick with Lydia because she provides her own notes and not just reading textbook like Pushpa..but if I'm not wrong Lydia switched to UK variant.

f5 - I went under akhbar..pretty decent la..serious when it comes to lectures but sometimes can be quite slow/boring
(I went under voon sia for a brief period of time, I found her teaching style don't suite me)

f6 - I would have to say ms rozi..She's strict.. Also tried ms kok for a while but don't like the way she conduct her classes..too much chit chat with her students sweat.gif

But all in all, I'd say it's based on your own preference la..I'm sure some other students would prefer different lecturers than me.. smile.gif

hi! how is philip woo class for P3 and how is it compared to sunway P3 class(Mr Dinesh)?

Need to choose between these two.

Thank you for your input. smile.gif
*
Hmm, I always felt Mr Dinesh is quite laid back during lectures. Other than that I got nothing much else to say..oh, and I only went for half of the first day of revision.

Do u know which lecturer good for F7?
*
Huh? Isn't there only Ms. Santha for F7? She's a good lecturer but you have to keep up with her. I couldn't. doh.gif

Now still got Ms.Ang. Why u couldn't keep up with her?

Added on November 15, 2012, 12:02 pmShould i take 3 papers or 2? Between F7-9.
Is that to heavy if u did OBU when u're taking P1-3?
*
Haha, Ms. Santha is fast. Or maybe I'm just slow. But when doing questions she keep flipping the pages non-stop (this figure go here, this figure go there etc etc etc). I can't comment on Ms. Ang but Santha really is a good lecturer.

If you can handle go for 3, if not just take 2 papers.

It's possible to do P1-3+OBU. Many of my friends did that but have to be hardworking.

i heard Spencer will stop teaching in FTMS next year!
*
He going KSA to replace Andrew Pang. I feel its good news for student because Andrew Pang only focus on calculations. I went for his IRC and I really regretted going. He talks rather lazily also. But we did get Spencer for 3 hours and I can say that he's much better in teaching this paper because from what he say he focuses on theory.

How was Ms.Kiran teaching style for F8?

Added on November 29, 2012, 1:13 pmAnd P1 barely touch, lol ...
*
Still got about 1 week+ only..Well, if you attended class some of the stuff should stick with you for both subjects and you would only need to refresh them. If I'm in this position I would most probably split up the available time to refresh on both subjects.

If you totally no knowledge on P1 then rclxub.gif

Goodluck!

Hi,

What is ACCA V8? i never heard it before. I thought it is from F1 to F9, then followed by P1 to P7.

Added on November 30, 2012, 12:32 pm
hi,

Sundry expenses i suppose.
*
V8 means this is version 8 of the ACCA thread in this forum. In other words, it is a continuation from V7 as V7 has reached the maximum allowed posts. Nothing to do with any individual subjects, they all can equally be discussed here.

Hi guys,

I'm 30 this year. Haven't been study for so long. Am interested in ACCA. Not sure if I'm too late to study and work as an accountant.

Do you guys think 30 is too old to study ACCA and get a job (since they would prefer fresh graduate that are youngster) ?

Cheers.
*
I have been to classes with people in their late 30s/ early 40s. They have family and kids but still studying ACCA. But of course they are working people already. And no, I think it's not too late. It's never too late.

Any tips for F7??
Do you guys think one can pass F7 with only computations??
*
Definitely possible to pass with just calculations..But you have to score for all of them..Q1,2,3..Don't worry if not balanced/no totals in the SOFP, bulk of the marks are for workings..

Added on December 5, 2012, 1:48 pmFor P6, Do we have to quote the sections?

for e.g. RPGT (Exemption)(No.2) Order 2009 (P.U (A) 486)

Or is it sufficient if we can just explain the rules and whatnot?
