Apple rolling out new iPad on Friday to South Korea and 11 other countries

Americans, Europeans, and many others have already gotten their hands on the new iPad, and now Apple is bringing it to 21 more countries in the next few weeks. On Friday, April 20th, the iPad will arrive in South Korea, Brunei, Croatia, Cyprus, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malaysia, Panama, St. Maarten, Uruguay, and Venezuela. April 27th will see another round of releases, as the iPad debuts in Colombia, Estonia, India, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, South Africa, and Thailand. The tablets will be sold both through Apple's online store and authorized resellers.

Apple's suggested retail prices are the same as what it announced last month, with 16GB Wi-Fi models starting at $499 and 16GB 4G models starting at $629. Apple's also making sure people know that its LTE isn't going to work in any of those countries: "4G LTE is supported only on AT&T and Verizon networks in the US and on Bell, Rogers and Telus networks in Canada." After some confusion in Australia, the UK, and Sweden, hopefully Apple won't end up having to offer any more refunds.

It's hard to say, it really is. There are just two possibilities, March 30th or 6th April.

i don't really trust them. I asked them and they said it is just based on theoretical assumption of 2 months after the launch period. Not from any source or rumour.

Yah loh.... mine already in Singapore waiting for my buddy to pickup this Saturday. So Monday I shall have my New iPad White 32GB + 4G . N I will be getting an additional Micro Sim (from my Single line multi Sim maxis package) for unlimited usage only RM15/=. Yeahhhhhh

Maxis Multisim does not share your mobile data plan, only calls and sms for normal package. Those who are on corporate line or special offer with unlimited data can have multisim with data sharing enabled.

So if you are on normal postpaid, having multisim on iPad does NOT give you FREE data.

As promised Apple unleashed the new iPad today into 25 more countries around the world. The first wave began on March 16 with Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, United States and the US Virgin Island.

Today the iPad officially makes a debut in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Even more countries are expected to join this list in the next couple of months. Meanwhile our review is already live – you can check how cool is the new Retina display and the 5MP camera, as well as how hot could the iPad becomes because of the new quad-core GPU.

In case you are going to buy the 4G version of the new iPad, we strongly suggest you educate yourself about the supported carriers, bands and hotspots. It’s a bit tricky there.

My friend is now in sg for holiday. And I tumpang-ed her to get the new iPad for me. And she found that most of the shops she went had sold out of 'em.

I guess that's a blessing in disguise. Cuz it will be about RM100 more expensive. And she's not taking a flight. Which means GST won't be deductible.

Oh well, guess I've just got to be a bit more patient ...

HSDPA is also supported on the iPad 2, so that should be the same.

btw for 3G, "The New iPad" now supports "HSPA+", while the iPad 2 is limited to "HSPA" (which is HSDPA and HSUPA). Since some places in Malaysia already got HSPA+, supposedly you can surf faster on it than on the iPad 2.

Cheapest iPad2 is RM1199 for 16GB Wifi ONLY version, but i will personally recommend getting at least 32GB
