Just came back from Singapore a couple of days ago after running at the Sundown Marathon where I did HM. Was an awesome run in the city, with night light in Marina Bay Sands and etc. Every runners should do it at least once (overseas run) I personally think though financially can be a bit tight but I guess could be resolved if we get a group of people to share out the cost. Anyway this is the finisher medal tongue.gif

Wa! so many amendments? I was not aware of that except the starting time change for 21km from 7am to 6am. I wonder if they'll at least block one side of the road since they're running it big this time. If no road block for safety purposes then really shakehead.gif
Based on my recent experience and what I read is that going uphill would be try to maintain your pose as on flat surface, not to lean too much to the front or back and, shorter stride with faster/ shorter arm swinging to help pull you up. Better not try to tackle the hill as hard (fast) as you can else pamcit later.

While going downhill would be pretty much the same too, slight forward lean but with shorter stride too. Better not sprint while overstriding downhill.

I'm still learning too on hills and gotta hear from sifu sekalian. smile.gif

laugh.gif i dun tink its such a big event...it had got big promotion, but in terms of participation, i wouldn;t tink tat its tat big.. sad.gif cos if its as big as advertised, then they won't change this and that and remove category..but, oh well, still yet to b seen. smile.gif but at least someone in east malaysia are organising such event now icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif kudos to them..

when i register http://www.thespring.com.my/liveactiverun2012.html.
they told me oredi 1000++ ppl take part, most ppl is 10km(which i take part), second is 5km and least ppl is 21km, if assumed 10km participant is 400ppl, hw am i goin to break through all the crowd?
*
dun worry...many will slow down after the foirst 3-4 km..then that's ur breakthrough..but really gotta maintain ur pace, as per sifu 90Boyz.. smile.gif the organiser suddenly include the finisher Tee for the 10km when there wasn;t any in the first place.. smile.gif

Added on June 4, 2012, 11:45 ami guess that really boost the participation in the 10km category. smile.gif

400 for 10k is really small crowd, the smallest run i join before it's around 300 person.. it's quite nice to run with a small crowd
*
another thing to take note of small crowd is that if halfway certain groups starts to give up, then the semangat sure halve too.. tongue.gif and it would feel like its a normal practice after all.. tongue.gif

Pros, I'm just registered myself to Penang Bridge 10km run.
This will be my 1st run and I hope I can get a medal.
I can run 1st 5km in 35 mins or so, but how to maintain the other 5km with this pacing?
Sigh... Can provide some training guides to complete 10km in 1.5hours?

Thanks in advance! smile.gif
*
well..try to maintain a consistent pace..if u just started running, try running 5km consistent 3-4 times per week...do this for at least 3 weeks, then attempt 10km... smile.gif dun worry..take it slow..1 and half hour wouldn't b too much problem if u can do 5km in 35 minutes..keep it up!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Hi all,

i jog quite frequently and one of the problem i faced is most of the time, i will have pain or discomfort feeling near my ribs area, somewhere under the lungs/rib area.

It feels like a sharp discomfort. I am not sure if anyone has any known solutions for this?

sometimes i am not exhausted but the pain causes me not able to run or jog any further.

thanks in advance.
