hi guys, anyone have experience in working/operating wire ropes, chains, slings and lifting gears?

almost every engineering industry have applications for these equipment, besides what were thought in uni(selection process, calculations and etc), is there anything else we should know bout if were to work in this line?got an interview coming up with a manufacturer/provider of the equipments coming up.

my thoughts are on about the technical test(wch im unsure if there will be any) and what they normally ask, any suggestions on what should require focus on?thanks in advance.

Hi guys,

I've been thinking about joining the O&G industry for a while now. I have 2years of experience doing boiler component inspections at thermal power plants.

I don't mind joining the industry as a fresh graduate cause I have no experience in O&G. any suggestions on where should I start ?
*
you should aiming for the refining plants, utilities/inspection department maybe, because normally power-consuming refining plant they generated their own electricity, so maybe they need inspection engineer in boiler component?

Hi okemi,

First you should know what really do you want.

Are you still in love to do offsite work, if yes then you should start hunting Fabricator - Try:
- Aker Soloutions Klang (Subsea Manufac & Design)
- Kencana
- JGC

If you want to squeeze your ultimate brain to do design and analysis work - Try:
- Aker Solutions KL
- Technip
- Foster Wheeler
- OPE
- MMC
- Ranhill Worley
- Mustang

Both field have pro and cons. Find which one suit you...

Just my 2 cents, bro
hi marcus.

what about schlumberger falls into which fields? hmm.gif

try to take those inspection courses and certificates such as welding inspector, coating inspector, ndt inspector etc. try to aim for a general inspector position. u'll make 5 figures easily once u've become a general inspector.
