QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Aug 19 2013, 10:46 AM)
Extract from ASNB latest master prospectus for ASW2020:-

Approved fund size : 16.615 bil units
In circulation : 15.85 bil unit

Assume they declare 6.80% dividend, a total of 1.07 bil units must be issue
Add to existing in circulation = 16.9278 bil units, alredy exceeds approved fund size

Did ASNB announce d increase in approved fund size for ASW2020?
Otherwise they need to declare 4.82% dividend in order not to xceed approved fund size
*
QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Aug 19 2013, 01:37 PM)
Predict ASNB will issue a Supplementary Prospectus (SP) by dis month
The SP will be posted in their website
In d SP, one of the agenda should be d increase in approved fund size for ASW2020 from 16.615 bil units to xx.xxx bil units
The rationale for d increase is to cater for d eventual units in circulation (after Div on 1/9/2013) as d current approved fund size is not enuf if ASNB declare Dividend of 6.60% (assume same as Yr 2012)
*
You worried too much. Just chill. If not reinvestment as new units, cheque would be given to unit-holders (chance are VERY LOW for this method)

anything lower than the current BLR will hurt many people

from my observation, the fixed price fund pays min 6sen p.a while those variable price fund pays min 5sen p.a

among all fixed priced fund, ASB gives the highest rate

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Aug 19 2013, 05:07 PM)
I know d non-Bumi funds for ASW2020, ASM n AS1M have been fully subscribed
Did anyone manage to top up non-Bumi ASW2020, ASM n AS1M via maybank2u.com (try luck in case someone withdraw)?
*
You can go personally to PM or ASNB branch all over Malaysia to "try & error", just forget about the online thing because it already stated in their website the fund is fully subscribe (as lucifah told "only AS1M and ASB are available from the dropdown menu")

p/s: if you read previous pages post, got people managed to get ASW & AS1M units (non-bumi).

QUOTE(lucifah @ Aug 20 2013, 04:25 PM)
it's not mine. rather, it's one of the investments accounts that i manage for some clients  wink.gif

i'm now seriously contemplating to port all money from ASB to AS1M (hopefully still available) and do a full ASB loan (up to 400k)

still doing some simulations and will consider the best tenure period and loan amount needed

by my rough calculations,

1. loan interest rate: BLR (6.6%) - 1.65% = 4.95%
2. ASBRTA - ASB reducing term assurance = RM 1,200 per 100k loan (assumption)
3. effective interest rate (include ASBRTA) = 5.15% (assume the ASBRTA takes another 0.2% interest)

ASB Dividend: 7.75% (2012)
AS1M Dividend: 6.6% (2012)

Nett return: 7.75% + 6.6% - 5.15% = 9.2%

that is EXCLUSIVE of ASB bonus...

let me think and present this to my client within these few weeks. thinking of doing this and disburse the loan and transfer the money on 01 October 2013 (Tuesday) and maximise on full year dividend

or should i try to put it in Tabung Haji savings? it gave out 6.5% (dividend) + 1.5% special bonus for 2012, giving account holders a nett 8.0% return...
*
Very sorry. My mistake blush.gif

AS1M bumi quota is still available, I think hmm.gif

My opinion, you should also put some money in TH (just to spread the risk & also for your future Haj requirement).

Final decision is yours & your client biggrin.gif

TH awesome dividend was only for year 2012. dunno how it will perform in the future. plus, TH head is UMNO crony now. just like how PNB's current CEO is.
*
TH should be no problem.

Crony at Top should be fine. Not they doing the investment job, got others officer / committee members does the investment strategies. smile.gif

TH div History

PNB with crony CEO also they paid "good" dividend yearly.

I am more worried that with poor governance, CBT and scandals will be more rampant. TH is already famous for a state director committing khalwat, a few top execs emblazoning a few hundred millions and numerous spare change cases...
*
That part I forgot blush.gif People will always "misuse" their power for personal gain if there's opportunity for it.

Anyway it's your choice.

the crony has just clocked into the office a few months ago. what effects you may see will only show maybe 2 - 3 yrs down the road. hopefully it won't go that way. i pray.
*
I just hope the "good" dividend rate would stay for long time smile.gif

I want to ask, It is true asw2020 got "A grade" investment officers / Committee compare with asm & as1m? Some people told this to me. I just want to confirm it.

QUOTE(hyelbaine @ Aug 20 2013, 07:20 PM)
I don't believe that's a fair assumption to make. Difference between fund performance depends on many factors. The age of the fund is one. A fund that is older would have been able to pick up good dividend paying blue chip stock at a much lower price 20 years ago compared to a new fund setup 5 years ago.

Another is of course the size of the fund. A bigger fund would have much more leverage than a fund that's smaller in its size. When you have a large base, you would be able to take a bigger advantage of market fluctuations.
*
You gotta good point there, backed by relevant fact. If think about it, asw2020 have "longer history" compare with others (ex- ASB). The fund can take bigger risk than others.

Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

When top up at PM/ASNB, need to bring cash
If not successful, need to carry cash back home which is a bit risky
Does PM/ASNB accept other mode of pymt besides cash?
*
If not mistaken PM only accept cash.

ASNB accept cash, Cheque/ Banker's Draft/ Banker's Cheque (will be processed based on the date of clearance). So you need to kept your passbook there for few days (normally after 3 working days).

For those who are going to start a new acc for ASG, report it here if you success.

All agent here not allowed us to do it.

New passbooks had arrive, but the particular printer to do it haven't.
*
So they "upgrading & changing" the ASG passbook & account, just like previous ASN3. They change the ASN3 passbook & gave new account number for all unit-holders.

Xtract from ASNB website

Saiz Tabung ASW2020 : 17.945 bilion unit.

The above unit differs from 16.615 bil unit as per latest Master Prospectus  rclxub.gif
*
It's good indication, means SC already approve increased fund size for dividend reinvestment purpose thumbup.gif
