Pretty sure those who say they are not gonna buy this, will still buy it in the end. There isn't much city simulation games being created forcing most gamers who love it to buy it. If people hate origin that much, things on origin has changed, I don't see why people love steam that much but hates origin. It's the effing same thing, and I use both.
I beg to differ, when I say I am not going to buy a game, so far I stick to my principles and did not buy the game.
Due to DRM I did not buy :-
1) Biohock 1,2 - GFWL
2) GTA 4 - GFWL + Rockstar Social Club
3) Mass Effect 1,2,3 - Origin, Securom, limited activations
4) Dirt 3 - GFWL
5) Anno 2070 - Uplay
6) Assassin's Creed - Uplay
7) Battlefield 3 - Origin
8) Batman A, ACity - GFWL
9) Sins of the Solar Empire Rebellion (not the first one) - Need STEAM - DUH!!
10) Diablo 3 - always online DRM
11) C&C 4- always online DRM
12) Starcraft 2 - need online activation, B.net account
.. and now Simcity 2013 due to its DRM. The only person or organisation who loses in the end is the developer/publisher, not me. There are so many other publishers and developers who listen to consumers like me.
As for EA providing offline feature in the future, so far has EA disable online activation or for that matter any always online DRM for that matter? If there is a game I would really love to know which game it is.
Till EA makes Simcity 2013 DRM-Free then I would gladly buy SC2013. Till then, I rather spend my time playing SC4.

Since the fan base is huge i'm sure that EA/Maxis will provide us with offline features in the future.
They are pushing people to buy this games and preventing this game from being pirated.Games will be pirated nonetheless I got to admit. But I find it stupid to have such hash drms in place that punish the paying customer more than the pirates.
In fact now that THQ has bankrupt, it has occurred to me what will happen when it is EA's turn to do under? Will EA maintain the Origin servers? Can I still play SC2013 when EA is not around? The only reason I can still play THQ games like DoW 2 or Space Marine is the fact it relies on Steam rather than a custom service e.g THQnet. Then there is a question if Valve goes bankrupt, will steam be around then?
The last thing I want is for my physical disks to end up a coaster.
Also, someone brought up the fact that Diablo 3 had massive sales figures although the game had this always online DRM. The fact is that lots of Diablo 3 customers regret buying the game since the DRM is making them unable to play the game. Many swore never to buy another game which such DRM in place.
