Pretty sure those who say they are not gonna buy this, will still buy it in the end. There isn't much city simulation games being created forcing most gamers who love it to buy it. If people hate origin that much, things on origin has changed, I don't see why people love steam that much but hates origin. It's the effing same thing, and I use both.

Since the fan base is huge i'm sure that EA/Maxis will provide us with offline features in the future.
They are pushing people to buy this games and preventing this game from being pirated.

Methinks you're overestimating the market for SimCity type games.

And no, I don't plan on buying this, even if I loved Sim City since Classic first came out in 1991.

Tried the closed beta yesterday and when I was playing the game half way, the server was down, but I was able to continue the game until the 1 hours limit is finished.

Sounds better than what I had imagined. I thought it will instantly kick you out the minute the connection dies. I know disconnections can happen because although I got Unifi because sometimes when I play Hitman Absolution or X-Com the connection to Steam dies. Fortunately can still continue playing. FYI my pc is connected to my router by wifi, hence the possibility of disconnections.

I am curious to see if the connection dies if can save my city or not. I know in the Beta it might not be possible though.

My thoughts exactly! Guess we don't have a problem about DRM at all. Unlike those guys.
For me if there is no internet connection, i'll play some other games. It's not like I only have 1 system to play my games. I have a lot of options (PSV,PSP,3DS,DS,PS3) smile.gif

I think I am of the older generation of pc gamers where those days it was a simple as putting in the disk, install and play. Old habits die hard laugh.gif

Anyway have my Lego collection to keep me busy nowadays, so PC gaming is not my primary form of entertainment like when I was in school or uni.

Yes. It depends on your preference. Have you played SimCity before?
For me it's something different compared to the other SimCity.
Easier to build and you could stack and upgrade buildings without needed to bulldozed it and upgrade like previous Sims.
If you have played other simulation games, it's a must buy.
If you are in doubt, wait and see what the others have to say about it.
I've played the beta and liked it, but there is a lot of limitation so can't really evaluate how good it is once the product reach the shelves.

Base on the Beta the game requires internet to start, but if for some reason your connection is down you could still be able to play it. But not quite sure if the game will be saved or not though.

I am interested but I have to wait for reviews 1st. Or at least a demo

And i am worried that EA would leave content out so that they can sell expansion packs.
