hi all...

anybody know how to prepare infusoria or better yet, where to buy one? my oto is spawning again. im hoping to be able to keep the fries alive for at least till it is 1 cm long...previous fries all died... sad.gif

update :- almost 2 weeks passed.... i still cannot see any hydra in my tank...previous occupants of the tank (prior bombing with zentel) still survive, so i think this method successful...to certain extent.... smile.gif

would the ottos fry eat brine Shrimps?
Glad to know zentel work , but the easy way is to just use no-planaria powder, kill both hydra & planaria minus the risk.
*
i dunno...so far ive asked ppl, they oso dunno what oto fry eats...

zentel bombing... cause of 2 reason, some ppl say no planaria can kill hydra, some claims it does nothing....n i just cant wait for my no-planaria to be shipped lol (me haz no patience)...

Media is special housing made for beneficial bacteria to stay and multiple , actually those bacteria can grow anywhere , soil, sand , glass etc but
we need special place to accumulate as much of them as possible that why bio-media is develop for this purpose , normally we house those media
in the filters himself, it come it many shape and materials, you walkin a local fish shop , goto the shelf you will notice lot of different brand and different shape and materials of filter media.
Google keyword aquarium filter media , you will learn/know more.

My friend told me that the wiring is complicated hmm.gif Apart from the fan, what is required for the entire setup?
*
ac/dc power supply/converter , n if u fancy it, a switch to switch it on n off.. wiring is pretty much direct... even a primary schooler can do it... smile.gif

dont need so susah lah , just buy this type of fan , AC fan size is 120mm x120mm x35mm ball bearing type, new one , min can last u for 2-3 years
yep... can use that too... but i dont like the idea of having 240v live wire on top of water surface... smile.gif

edit:- wait..is that dc or ac fan?

the fan itself is running 240v, no need ac-dc plug.
5L water evaporated everyday, cant imagine how high is the fan speed  sweat.gif
*
if DC 220V, you need a transformer to change AC to DC bro...

n if i remember correctly, my anatomy lecturer told me that DC is much more dangerous than AC... u must've hav a really high confidence in ur design deric79k

me, i dun like to dismantle/switch off things when doing water change/small maintenance... n the thought of having a 220V fan drop into my tank , while my hand is still inside water, scares me... shakehead.gif
