Stalking? Go lelong.com and buy some spycam built in spectacles or shaped as fancy necklaces better. Do a girl in bed, record without her noticing, and use to blackmail for more. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif 808PV's camera too big, easy to notice. LOL

another great interview and i love it cant wait for it dying for it it it it rclxms.gif
and they are currently optimizing for low light image and video, but they would also need to adjust the correct white balance (which until now Nokia sux at it too much cry.gif )

GSMArena: Tell us more about the companion chip in the camera. Is it a first for Nokia? Is it being done elsewhere?  D. Dinning: As far as I know, the way of doing it this way is unique to us. The companion chip takes the information directly from the sensor and scales it, before that data goes to the GPU. The GPU has less load because of this scaling chip. What that means in practice is that in video we are able to handle over one billion pixels per second.

it's clearer now...
it's not GPU that handles the raw image data directly from the sensor

ya, but the argument was the companion chip is a GPU or what
back then i speculate that using GPU will need larger battery than 1400mah

nic nic afraid the 808 video play back capability as bad as those 700/701?? whistling.gif

but for me i think nokia team should know about this as well, even "maybe" same gpu been used but i think they might "fixed" the flaw through the FP1 which also available for the 700/701... nod.gif

but u need to consider as well when using that dedicated camera processing chip it will reduce the gpu load at the same time which "might" balance out the extra power usage... icon_idea.gif

hmm.. nvr cross my mind coz its sort of doesn't make sense to me because that would make the 808 have 2 GPU.. redundant to say the least. my initial impression have always been that damian mention the technology is unique to nokia because they develop it with their partners. so i naturally assume that the chip is part of that technology because nothing off the shelf GPU or not can handle 41MP

is the 700/701 video performance that bad? is it the GPU fault or WP?

as predicted the iso sensitivity if the 808 taken the photo in full res it would lose to N8 as N8 sensor are bigger, but when 808 use pureview to oversampling to 5MP or 8MP then it's sensitivity will improved... so conclusion the 808 no matter what we compare also it's ahead better then N8, now would left the actual performance of it's RF/GPS/FM antenna which only will be known when the final product been released and tested... hmm.gif

my explanation was on this post

i had been involved in certain electronics R&D for some little time
by looking at the battery capacity and the huge amount of pixels to process for video, of course it's not going to be GPU
just that during the MWC, reviews and earlier interviews it's confusing that some of them relate the companion chip to GPU

700/701 is symbian belle devices, and yes the video decoding is BAD!! also very difficult/impossible to render the 1080p fullHD content... sweat.gif

hahaha HTC??? in their dream lah, the photos sure looks good if you're not pixel peeping, this also same as what they claim for the ip4s too... but when u zoom down to pixel level u will have to force to admit nothing beat nokia yet... then others would say the "overall" photos look "nicer" on the HTC/IP4S when just a simple dummy capturing... so it's still down to what the end users final preference toward what they want... whistling.gif
