Same lah, some other rangers also feedback the same previous in L800 thread. Don't know what to write, but many not nice things to say, but need to write it constructively and hope MS will add in those feature, remove the restriction and limitations. On Nokia part, they can't do anything, even they know and want to.

I really cannot believe MS goes this path and do this. I still can't believe and cannot believe I have to write this about MS. What happen to MS.

honestly, what is there to write? camera and outlook already covered in N9 review last time.. software.. well, we know how much there is to write...
me same, nothing much to write also, i also dunno how to write

they are already planning going to the restriction direction, if not they won't pickup Wp7 at the 1st place. Kill off Symbian later, let younger generation play with lumia, so they can control everything in future. Nokia is heading to apple direction..

if, i say if, Elop didnt announce "we are killing symbian", you think Lumia can even sell?
and if that didnt happen, u think Android and iOS are smiling after Belle update? don think so
that is Symbian, the potential is there, just need to brush up the UI, now the UI is brushed up, the platform is super optimized, it actually posts threats to other *ahem* ecosystems had it didnt get killed off

FYI, Nokia 808 doesn't come with optical zoom, you can get a PnS Camera for that...

Pureview is still using digital zoom, but traditional digital zoom, it zooms into a pixel and tries to generate more pixels from information captures in one pixel, basically, sucks big time. but however, with PureView, since you are having 41MP, and oversamples the captured image to 5MP, while you zoom, less pixels are captured, so u will have less oversampling on the final image. On max zoom, you will be getting the 5MP image of the 41MP, basically, like cropping out the middle of a full size 41MP image, even though there are no oversampling on the image, there will be no quality loss as well, compared to how Digital Zoom is traditionally done.

As for Optical Zoom, it is what you would find on a normal P&S camera. It uses magnifying effect to zoom out. Although it does sounds good, there's one problem. As you zoom, your aperture value drops. If you do not understand it, it means your sensor are capturing less lights, so to make up on that, normally camera will use slower shutter speed or higher iso. But slower shutter speed means u need to expose the sensor to light longer, ultimately, it means u need a more stable hand, otherwise you picture will be blurry, or at least, it won't be as crystal sharp as the picture that you didnt zoom. Higher iso means more grains on your image, and it looks bad. that destroys the image

I would say, PureView's implementation on zoom is most suitable for mobile phone. Optical zoom reduce captured light, which for mobile phone, unable to capture enough light is already a problem itself, lowering the shutter or bumping the ISO are not recommended. Not to mention optical zoom needs a lot of space, and it is very fragile. Yeah, PureView's sensor is damn big, but overall, it is still more compact then optical zoom. Not to mention, the oversampling photo makes it looks way better then most the P&S our there. Just don't expect too much 'bokeh' (depth of view, blurry background) out of it. Wide Angle aren't exactly good with it

like tonberry_ax pointed, PureView packs only Digital Zoom, but since it's lossless, don be afraid to zoom in, haha

I was refering to SD card slot, USB mass storage and bluetooth. If they want to do that type of restriction, then gone case, younger generation is more attracted to Android. The restricted/gated type OS, Iphone already conquer
Today, the new Ipad out, all line up to buy like crazy

Too big for small Asian hands lah. Why you think the P&S cameras slim and small, easier to hold.
