Yup, just like driving manual, when genting downhill, always use low gear to increase engine drag, hence engine braking to prevent u from over use the brake.

i think there shouldn't implement this features in D mode, instead should be 'L', now you have no choice, just get use to it... i drive manual, to be honest seldom use engine braking.

yes brake can fade...that why need engine to help...life > engine

for auto, i usually drop to 3rd gear, then apply abit of brake..if the car is not slowing, brake a bit, then drop to 2gear so on

dont drop gear and tekan summore...later masuk gaung...

The work the engine is doing is no more than what you put it thru when you were driving it uphill.

The difference is, when going uphill it is the fuel -> combustion that is driving the RPM up, whereas when going downhill, it is the gravity -> wheel that is driving the RPM up.

Both CVT and Auto cars have this feature, though not all. At least in the CVT the engine braking is gradual, the Waja wan would violently downshift, causing the passengers to lunge forward.

sort of like guarantee, because the workshop dunno if can fix or total loss. apparently i dont have a say in this, its up to my insurance to decide. total repair cost dunno yet, but could be 5 digits knn, should not have under insured, now headache liek fook.

Regarding the engine braking, a car engine can rev constantly without issues. Car brakes, on the other hand, will fade after excessive braking. So there you go.

Dunno la now. I want it settled asap. Then decide on what to do next. Its a 50-50 bet whether should keep or sell and change car. Feelings aside, 旧的不去，新的不来。。。

Like I said before even if the workshop fixed the car it'll probably fixed with "potong kereta" material which aren't safe.
Whether your car fixed or consider as total loss I think you should look for new car.

Try to talk with your insurer provider to solve this issue asap.Insurance companies are bunch of a-holes who always try to pay as little as possible.If you don't say anything this thing will probably drag for a long time.

u guys using what brand of manual tranny gear oil other than Proton one?

Cars <5 years old, use new ori parts, not half cut parts.

no such thing as half cut materials. after car has been repaired/fixed, it will be sent to puspakom for full inspection.

If puspakom fail, can still use the car but cannot transfer name.

Definitely 5 digit lor

I tot if fail puspakom your car will be blacklisted and taken off the road. Thats why las time when i sold my accident saga i was so worried coz nanti jual tak jadi, keta pun kena condemn.

It will not be taken off the road. When it fails, the car will be brought back to the workshop and from there you can just pickup the car if you want. Just be sure to check the puspakom receipt/slip to see why it failed.

If you want to change name, then puspakom must lulus.

i confirmed my car's behind left brake is having the drum brake problem.
=_= i still got about 450km before 1st service. So should i wait or direct go to SC?

Problem is, i only free on weekend cause i cant afford to take leave during week days. At first my initial planning is to take back ipoh during a long weekend that i can take extra holiday to get it fix, for the 1k service also.

So should i wait, or find a nearest SC during a weekend? (not fixing this right on weekend? just maintenance i heard?) Or can it wait? if can't i have no choice but to simply go to a car shop near by to fix it then. They can fix also? or need replace the whole thing?

Woot... looks like its another day of turning carbon dioxide into noise for me...

2mr going for 1st service, they said express, in 60 minutes. any advice to give me b4 i go thr? =D, btw the left hand side back door, the rubber like over the lining it should be, so the door harder to close. lol. gonna ask them to rectify
