Planning to get FLX for my mother soon. For current users,do you guys have any comment on the cars reliability?
I've test drive the FLX & the cars performance & interior seems reasonable for me.Just have doubt of campro's reliability.

While test driving I asked about the Proton P3-21A.I had the impression that the sales person has seen the car & he seems to be very impressed with it.He told me that the launch date will be in mid March & price range will be from 65K to 75K.

QUOTE(dares @ Feb 28 2012, 05:16 PM)
Campro the engine itself should be fine, just not as smooth or refine as those Japanese engines (My personal opinion). The thing everybody worries about is the IAFM component, which has a history of breaking every few years.

FLX comes with the new IAFM+, and since it is still new, there is still no reports of it breaking yet.
*
I did ask about the IAFM+ & he said so far there's no case with IAFM+ breakdown in SC near my house.
If a Saga sent to the SC it's mostly because of accident. Not much parts failure.

I guess I'll look through few more option before deciding but FLX seems like very good candidate for now.

Hey there fellow /k/tard tongue.gif

I've replied you on my FB, and if there's anything more you'd like to know, feel free to drop me a question wink.gif
*
Thanks man.
I learned a major thing from you already : Saga is a very safe car laugh.gif
My mother will be traveling 80KM per day & part of the road is shitty type.So need a rather safe car.
Initially I thought of taking standard model but standard model don't have airbag at all.So change to executive.

The SC/Proton Edar is about 500m from my house only.I can see rows of accident cars in SC from my house.
It's like car graveyard.

For that price, and a for a new car, nothing comes close.

Inokom i10 : Cute, probably save more gas, nicer interior. downside - no airbags, resale value, spare parts, small boot
Persona 1.6 B-Line : Bigger, more room, bigger engine. downside - no airbag/abs/ebd, a lot better stuff missing (power windows, foglights, alloy wheels etc)
Viva : Small, practical, saves gas, resale value, airbag+abs/ebd only on viva elite EZi . downside - pricey, considering the stuff you getting in return
myvi LB - tried and proven technology+platform, 2 aibags. downside - for RM45k, you get extra boot space, ABS/EBD over the myvi. and the interior isn't everyone's cup of tea
*
Personally I don't know why MyVi's price is so damn freaking high.It does sound like tin milo just like proton cars & performance + interior is just so2.
It's not worth paying nearly RM50K for that.
Even my sister dislike MyVi.

Saga's main advantage is definitely it's price.Just hoping it'll be reliable.
My family has great memories with our previous Proton car,Waja.Even after 11 years it still in excellent condition aside from the damn window.

Went to plenty of secondhand shop to for the past few days.
Decided Saga is the best value buy.Just left my mother on deciding what colour she wants.
Before booking my sister wants to test drive pulak.Expect another round of complaint about "proton quality" from her. She's driving Honda City.
Just had round of complaint from my Altis driving father that day.
Sigh...

Tell them its either the Saga or BMW.  laugh.gif

Buy BMW also pointless because everytime my parents travel my father is the 1 usually drive & he always prefers to drive his own car.

Overall Saga FLX is decent car for it's price.

no idea leh, but i guess no total loss gua
*
Don't think it'll be total lost.Probably will be fixed with "potong kereta" material.

Because the SC is very near to my house (around 500m) I can see their entire center from my house. At the back part of the center SC keep the cars they consider as total lost. And boy,it's not a pretty sight.I think everyone will have hard time guessing the cars model names.

You haven't checked your cars status yet?

sort of like guarantee, because the workshop dunno if can fix or total loss. apparently i dont have a say in this, its up to my insurance to decide. total repair cost dunno yet, but could be 5 digits rclxub.gif knn, should not have under insured, now headache liek fook. rclxub.gif
*
Should be in 5 digit.
Like I said before even if the workshop fixed the car it'll probably fixed with "potong kereta" material which aren't safe.
Whether your car fixed or consider as total loss I think you should look for new car.

Try to talk with your insurer provider to solve this issue asap.Insurance companies are bunch of a-holes who always try to pay as little as possible. If you don't say anything this thing will probably drag for a long time.

Made the order of Elegant Brown Proton Saga 1.3 FLX today.
Before finalizing the order I asked to test drive the car myself.Only complaint I have for this car is the useless SAT function & fabric seat cushion.
IMO SAT function is useful if the car have pedal shift (which is pretty impossible with Saga's price).I think Proton should try to include leather seat with the exec models in future.

Overall my mother seems pretty happy with the car so I'm ok with that.Expected delivery day is 4 days from now.Which was much much faster than 6 freaking months my father waited for his Waja.

1 of the good thing being car-less is I was given permission to use any of my father, mother, brother & sisters cars.

Eric crashed his Saga twice & survived to tell the story.Prove that in real life Saga is safe.Or at least safer than MyVi.

When I talked to the SAC last week I asked whether anyone has problem with IAFM+ in FLX & he said so far no one having such problem in that SC.

halo guys...is the Saga FLX 1.6 CVT SE still in Production??...still available?..i am looking for it..i mean the year make of it is 2012...got?
*
Just launched.Should still be continued.
Only the MT version might be discontinued (if it exist anyway).

QUOTE(ahpingko @ Mar 19 2012, 09:57 PM)
last question...which is better..persona or saga?..both same 1.6..i heard CVT hard to maintain later on..is it true?
*
The SA in my place personally recommends Saga 1.6 CVT over Persona.
Reason is slightly better parts used in Saga, smoother transmission due to CVT,better value(almost RM10K off Persona but with almost all the Persona goodies) etc2.
And I agree with the SA's recommendation.

Anyway if you choose Persona it'll be some of the last models from the factory because Persona production will stop soon.

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Mar 19 2012, 10:00 PM)
CVT as long as you stick to the maintenance schedule and dont always trash it, then it works good.

Oh, and always stick to the Proton CVT fluid (Esso EZL99). Even if you service outside, always buy the CVT fluid from Proton Spare parts center then only service outside.

+1
Learn from the Honda City 4th Gen fiasco.

Generally, powertrain components (engine and CVT), 3 years or 100k km.

The rest, 1 year. Power window, lifetime.
*
Double confirm this with your nearest SC.
Some SC likes to create their own warranty time.Pandai2 saja doh.gif

I know some SC in my district saying that engine/transmission only have 1 year warranty & the rest of parts 6 months only.
Can't cheat about the power window warranty cause it's been advertised all over Malaysia.
Proper warranty coverage is like what dares posted.

I can afford for both..thats y keep asking which better..cz that extra 10k difference, i can use for other stuff..if saga obviously nt good, then i will go for persona h line..but it seemed to be quite good..
*
Simply put Saga FLX have pretty much everything that Persona has except Persona have better handling.
However for it's price FLX is a very good value buy.

Fiesta S very popular among Malay girls.

So many at my workplace. Everyday I go and look see look see. I like blue Fiesta S  wub.gif

I love the dials. So modern. The ass is very nice. Ok I see your point la.

Girls nowdays all buy nice expensive cars.Everytime I go to the hospital my sister is working,I can see all nice cars BMW,Civic,Camry,Merc etc2.
When I ask her who do these cars belong she told me majority of them belongs to her colleagues.
Jelly liao.Baru buat housemanship but can afford these cars.

But there are also spend majority of their salary to buy the car they like.Ended up paying like 50-60% of salary for loans alone.
When my sister asked you don't scare to get into financial trouble they say this is a period of life where they should enjoy & criticize my sister for having "el cheapo" Honday City.
