Maxis charges PAYU once data limit over, and gives you full speed also.

And doesn't prompt you when you reach the amount.

But now they will send you SMS once your quota reaches 80%.
And now you can 'top up' when your quota reaches.
You can also check quota usage via USSD codes.

So its much safer and cheaper now.

Added on March 2, 2012, 10:28 amIn the past it was Rm0.10/10kb
Which is crazy expensive, now its RM0.30/mb

Last time really curse maxis for the extremely high data charges.

Was on Hotlink Youth Club during uni days with the Daily/Weekly Blackberry Internet Service subscription. Was using blackberry that moment. Suka suka eat Rm1 or rm2 credit each day. Had to call customer service every weekend to ask them to rebate back to me. Their system says that I'm using GPRS but I subscribed to the BIS data, which should allow me to surf. So every week I had to call to ask them to rebate, kinda fed up with it so i switched away. Happened to all my friends using prepaid data too.

My digi signal is ok at most area, but some places really bad. Well I came from maxis, so i am use to maxis for more than 10 years. Great signal almost everywhere, maybe my expectation too high for digi. unsure.gif

You can check via online now and USSD.
And also, you can top up via USSD the quota.

Added on March 2, 2012, 10:36 amLast time my home maxis got very bad reception.
But after i made a complaint, they upgraded my area and now I get good speed and coverage.

Except my work area now, but its because industrial area.
And i think my office structure plays a part too. I stand in the car park full signal 4mbps download. Inside building 0 reception on 3G/H/H+. :s

Well my friends on Maxis iValue plans also getting extra charges every month. Their data tracking system still bad i guess. Perhaps they improved it now? no idea.

Same here, from Maxis to Digi. I guess the reason we go for Digi is to get more mobile data value. Had to let go mobile coverage for that. There came a time few months back when I was annoyed with Digi's coverage, hopping to Celcom crossed my mind (but dont dare to go back to Maxis yet). haha Malaysia telcos are headaches.

The Green is indeed bucking up their game.
But for existing postpaid customers like me, they do not allow changing to Internet Value Plans
- Applicable to port-in, pre-to-post migration & new registrations.

Maybe it'll work if I port-out and then port back in hmm.gif

I switched from green to blue a few years back. headache every month.

When the bill DUE for the month and haven't pay, don't even honor credit limit, directly cut off access. :s
So after 1+ year switched back to maxis.

Added on March 2, 2012, 10:42 amPort in and out, cannot be so quick. Usually they ask if its at least 3 months old.

The more the merrier, give them more money so they can upgrade infrastructure faster.

Besides 1 or 2 users coming over won't be as big a problem as maxis signing MoU for 3G sharing with Umo.
That one is worst, don't know how many thousands will latch onto maxis's 3g network.
