QUOTE(takehiko @ Feb 25 2012, 07:16 PM)
hi, which setting under batch should i choose for titanium backup?

1. Backup all user apps
2. Backup all system data
3. Backup all user apps + system data

i got few games with data downloaded 1gb+ especially from gameloft, do  TB save it as well or i need to download it again later?
*
QUOTE(kazama82 @ Feb 25 2012, 07:34 PM)
for me i will backup all...no3..but when restore, use "restore missing apps with data"
and yes, your data download 1GB no effect..still inside your internal storage.
*
I recommend what kazama said as well. Having system backed up as well can come in handy in certain cases.
Also, certain things like wifi access points can be manually restored after "restore missing apps with data".

Don't restore all system, especially after changing ROM. I had problems once when I tried that laugh.gif

Yeah, just coz I use Android doesn't mean I swear by it.

I still recommend iPhone to my friends who are less tech savvy and want something that works and has loads entertainment value etc. WP looks interesting as well, now if only I could afford 2 data plans laugh.gif

Same, i feel ios is most user friendly among all OSes. Maybe u can buy a 2nd hand htc mozart to try out wp7, i think can get it really cheap nowadays.
*
Yeah, tiles concept especially is what I really like. That's what I like widgets for,see basic stuff, say weather, and my to do list, right there, instead of having to open an app like the darn iOS.

Think tiles bring this to a different level though. Really interested by the concept of glance and go

Only after switching to android then i ever realize how easy it is to see stuff on android, on iOS need to click the individual app and see, android can just see at a glance. I think mainly cuz iOS target at average users, so they wanna make it as simple as possible.Tile UI is really unique, the best UI in my opinion.WP7 has the potential to beat iOS
*
Just waiting for WP to mature abit. Combines great UI and tiles, it's like meeting the two OS right in between (in this respect at least).

Well got 2nd hand WP phone out there, but want data to enjoice it, mahal la T_T

4.8", cool laugh.gif

Still don't see a major leap in S3, compared from S to S2. Then again, it'll still sell like hot cakes I guess

That's because no more physical button sitting ai the bottom of the phone.
p/s - i see three side button. (power, volume &..??)
is it camera button or simcard slot cover....?
*
Looks like camera button.

But probably that's just artists impression, actual device may be completely different tongue.gif

Not entirely sure here, but I'm gonna try and guess.

Do you have auto brightness on while your wife has it off?

No worries since you've removed it.

As a general guideline, read forum rules before posting. With nonsense like SORPA and stuff going around, it's good to be aware. But before that LYN has always been a non piracy supporting site, just to be on the safe/good side

Its a common problem apparently. few user have the same problem on XDA including me. even reinstalling the game didn't help.
*
Hmm have a feeling it's samsung apps related right, market version works fine for me. Think need to him to them it's that then might ring a bell to them what the problem could be?

QUOTE(TheLaptopDudeGuy @ Feb 27 2012, 10:54 AM)
I think NEAK kernel is a good kernel, never give me SOD and has great standby and screen on time. But nothing can beat redphill's screen on time  thumbup.gif
*
Yeah, works fine for me also smile.gif Hmm which governor you choose? Think need to compare like for like in a sense right, using same governors for both

I agree redpill got one of the best on screen time. I never really got chance to try out neak as it either SOD or freeze on me when i use ondemand/sio.

Added on February 27, 2012, 11:21 amBTW there is a new kernel by entropy on XDA.

This?

Hmm maybe should give it a try hmm.gif

Abit off topic, but since we were talking about migrating to S3 some time ago, just looked through MWC outcomes, HTC devices seem promising. Just needs more hands on videos which longer play times of the phone to determine.Hmmmm tempting laugh.gif

Hmm then again unibody/non removable battery is o.o. Not like they packed a giant batt like MAXX in there

I just flashed to Turkbey v37SE.

I noticed that the screen is brighter (set to auto brightness) and the colours are richer (ie more colourful and contrast). Is it due to NEAK kernel?

Btw, the swipe away notification is cool!

rclxms.gif
*
Yeah, NEAK colors are different

Ah Turkbey has swipe away notifications too?

Yes, Turkbey v37 has swipe away notifications  drool.gif
Btw, will the increase in screen brightness and colour contrast shorten the Amoled Screen lifespan?  sweat.gif
*
Decrease the brightness you use lo tongue.gif (unless you use auto brightness)

But for auto brightness can use jkay to reduce it. Didn't really notice brightness difference on NEAK, mainly color difference

Yeah there is a brightness diff between the kernels. Siyah and red pill are lower. Neak, speedmod is more to stock and have higher brightness.
*
Ah thanks for the clarification

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Feb 27 2012, 04:55 PM)
Okay, I will try to check out jkay settings..haha....haven't play around with jkay much other than setting out the quick launch panel...

For night time reading in dark room, I use Screen Filter, so that is not a problem.

Thanks
*
Ah okie. Should be jkay, I know recently I've seen that adjustable auto brightness, and I'm quite sure it's not just polling rate but brightness itself that's configurable.

Why not turn off auto brightness? Can manually adjust but holding down status bar and swiping left and right. Think auto brightness polls the proximity sensor, not the best solution for battery life

Actually it's the first time I got it. Might be related to the device not restarting after some time. Weird thing is, some people on Siyah and Redpill forum also posted about this as well. I'm now trying Siyah again and will try not to restart. See if it gets the same issue.
*
How many hours were you/forumers on in general? As a reference point so probably the rest of us could check in on our up times as well smile.gif

Should be more than 48 hours at least. I remember that I didn't restart it over the weekend.

Cool thanks for the info, I'm sure some of us here will test it out.

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 27 2012, 08:11 PM)
Hmm will try and see. But i do know i have bad wakelocks with siyah 2.6.8 and above. So far RP is sleeping well. Could it be app related? After sometime, maybe some app/service got stuck running in the background.

On a side note, RP gave me 3 hrs screen on time using only 50% batt. Should be able to do 5 - 6 hrs screen on time with full batt.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Do you use data much? (e.g. alot of whatsapp etc). I get 2-3 hours screen on oso happy oredi laugh.gif

Data quite minimal. Just some whatsapp and some light browsing. Mostly was on light gaming.

Ahh okie cool. My usage on the other hand is data orientated, drains juice like no tmrw. How on earth LTE phones (apart from MAXX) survive beats me laugh.gif
