When you got moneh , you get SWAG

Too expensive since rubber dome on macro keys and Function keys doh.gif
*
plus the odd standard used for the bottom row(Ctrl, Alt and Spacebar) and also seriously overpriced in Malaysia, it is an instant pass for most of us here.

Everything seems all-right and I'm happy that the entire keyboard is nice and not much heavier than my old G15
the keys are nice and smooth
My only gripe is that they don't supply the 5 volt SC PSU with the keyboard and the only the tops of the keys are lighted sad.gif

Also where can i get Custom Keycaps?
*
Reach Malaysia already?
BTW Brah, that is how mechanical keyboard(Cherry MX switch) being backlited, you can't expect the whole keycaps to be backlit as the switch isn't designed so.
Any details on which "custom keycaps" you referring to?

Try taobao, it should be one of the easiest and cheapest option for Malaysian.
If you are ready/willing to go for more hassle, try Inpad/Armygroup from Taiwan and WASDkeyboard from US also.

ya i figure that sub-dyed are better too,
but the one I am getting is 2nd hand, blank black is what the seller have.

for the white one, I saw some youtube  video when they show their white HHKB Pro2 keyboard,
some of them is turning yellowish.... just the keyboard part, the keycaps part doesn't turn yellowish....
think because the body is made of ABS, only the keycaps are made of PBT.

I think I m getting a white printed set from 败家馆...
include postage cost RM310  rclxub.gif
do you guys have any other recommended place to get it?
*
Topre's stuffs are rare. Thus it is costly. Try compare with EK's price? hmm.gif

EK= Elite Keyboard

Hello..

I am new to mechanical keyboard, i would like to ask some pro here on how to clean the switches. Mine seems to be stuck after i accidentally drop the ashtray onto the keyboard. I there any tips or info that i need to know on how to deep clean the switch? I've already tried on the GH forums, but still i dont understand on how to do it. My english is bad and there are no pictures on how to do the cleaning. sad.gif
*
Most people will suggest clean it with solvent(water if you dare, if not some high concentration alcohol), the whole board including the switches and PCB.
Just remember to let it completely dried off then only connect the circuit and it will be fine.

Added on April 20, 2012, 12:37 amThough, if you got some powerful blower or compressed air, it will be easier and safer.

*
You want something cost over RM300 to arrive safely in one piece or multiple pieces. sweat.gif
BTW, it is thick, not going to be heavy. For shipping keycaps, the actual weight will never reach 1kg. It is the volumetric weight that matter more. But even so, there will not be a 1kg volumetric weight keycaps.

aluminium shell with transparent keycaps.. OMG!!! taobao now!!
*
There isn't any alu shell version. They announced a total of 3 models(the backlit one probably isn't mechanical, so effective models are 2).
http://www.waishehome.cn/thread-48955-1-1.html

BTW, I will buy the keyboard, for the sake of a compatible Caps Lock on my Cherry G80-3800. rolleyes.gif
That strange layout, a combination of SS7G(more to Plum) enter and BackSpace, Razer style bottom rows(actually it is 1.25x modifier instead of 1.5 on Razer, thus you are expecting a looooooooong spacebar...) and also IBM style Caps Lock. Me not sure if gusta. hmm.gif

Odditiest(over most OEM boards) found so far.
Caps Lock - Cherry G80-3800 standard(also IBM's model M standard)
Spacebar - 7x long spacebar(sort of vintage standard, still can be found from GH SP's GB)
Window and Menu - Razer/iOne's standard, 1x size
Enter and BackSpace - SS7G's standard

I found a youtube video on how to open the switch using tweezer without soldering needed.. is that possible?

The video by Undarken right? That is for PCB mounted keyboard, not possible on plate-mounted(your keyboard).

@Qavs
Most of us here will suggest to skip BW if possible for which it is known to have quite lots of flaws.

Ducky no macro but it come with multimedia keys which you can use AHK to remap it if you want.

@above,
I thought filco jp had launched new batch of Cherry Red board?

For CM Storm part, it is mean to be like that. Normal(blue, black and brown switch) version using the grayish case, while the Red switch version is marketed separately as different product at higher price.

Thanks ^^. I did notice that the top rows have a little flex, but overall typing feeling, somehow the plate mounted Filcos have a more solid feel when bottoming out unsure.gif
*
Too solid = finger pain, personal story, LOL...

I compared plate mounted and PCB mounted Cherry Red, plate mounted seems to be too hard and will cause pain to finger(if you spam it down hard and long enough) while PCB mounted doesn't had such feel.
