Last time cyclonechuah (this thread's TS) got sell but not sure still got or not. I bought an OEM one (same design without filco words) from taobao together when I bought my keyboard bags...
*
Filco got 2 generations/versions. Gen2 had the words filco while gen1 no. Another one which I think you mentioned is the KBC one, which is shorter in term of size.

BTW, TS still do sell Leopold's Wire Puller(p/s: Just got one from him this morning, TROLOL).

Why so serius previously?

There is an old MX black Plum with almost that layout if you look hard enough in TB.
Pretty cheap too.
*
I know that one. But the layout really can't make it... sweat.gif Apart from the bigass enter, it also lack of some keys and the keys mapping is odd enough...
The closest thing should be TT Meka or IRock 6230 instead, but I don't like the bigasss...

Wow!! Moderno is having massive clearance sale for the Corsair Vengeance K60 for RM390. D:
*
Saw it, but still far overpriced(and we hate a semi mechanical keyboard...) compared to how cheap it is in US. SRP around RM300 and mostly it have offer which sell at RM240+(80USD)...
Heard that it isn't retailers fault but the distributor charged such a high price...

K60 screwed up... thanks to:
Corsair - rubber dome for ESC row?
corsair's malaysia distri... - best pricing eva
*
4th, people rather add up another RM100+ to get more bling bling on the keyboard(k90).

sincerely speaking, im still thinking that corsair's mech keyboards are not worth its price, regardless of their price overseas....

I still waiting for the day which any heavy modder decided to [s]soft[/]hardmod those rubber dome into mechanical switch... It will be a hard job for sure as the opening for rubber dome is smaller than Cherry switch(which mean you need to drill up the size of the holes).

The Key Tronic keyboard was the original Topre switch patent owner right?
is there still any Key Tronic Topre Switch keyboard in the market or even 2nd hand market? I found some Key Tronic in E-bay, older models, made for Dell or something,
they didn't state out the keyswitch type in the specifications....... are those worth a try?

Added on April 13, 2012, 4:58 pm

how do you break it?
*
Early Topre is probably only rubber dome, don't have the spring inside. Don't think such things worth a try.

You can't solder on plastic.
Plus, the controller for the rubber domes are different.
You'd need another set of keycaps for that, or you can do the stem mod.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
My plan is that removing the default RD membrane , plastic frame?(don't know what it call, the mounting of keys onto rubber dome's holes) and all it's other components.
The rubber dome's holes seem to be smaller than Cherry's, so we need to drill it bigger to mount the Cherry switch. Of course we need a whole new circuit and controller for it. Which make me think that Corsair had really make US hard enough by going RD. rolleyes.gif

I guess the main challenge is to make the RD holes bigger...

BTW, some random google search lead me to a internal review of it, nice.

OWAI, just realise that Corsair board is using 5pins Cherry switch instead of 3pins? Thats a rare one for a plate-mounted keyboard. notworthy.gif

erm... didnt see the 5th pin... 2 point for LED (the tiny one), two point for switch...
*
The one normally found on plate-mounted boards is called 3 pins(cause 2 steel pins for circuit connecting and the center black plastic "pin" to mount on the PCB, IOW, there is 3 holes on PCB for each switch).

The one on PCB mounted is called 5pins, which is very much same as the counterpart just now, except with extra 2 plastic pins to mount/grip onto the PCB.

The truth is: 10years later any topre probably cost RM300 if you sell it 2nd hand,
for the coin? 104 year ago, it is RMB1.00 only, for real. wait another 10 years, the coin cost X10.
btw the coin, of course some of the link in taobao might be exaggeration,
since the market price now is around RMB2000 to RMB3000,
but all those below RMB1000 are most likely fake.
*
Brah, Cherry G80-5000 also doesn't cost over 200000yen(RM7500+) back in 10 years back whistling.gif

It is all back down to the rarity and the demand of the market.

True true, rarity and demand of market.
I think there is more silver coin collector than keyboard collector
and after it come down and down again, the silver has more value than a Keyboard, right?

And if one day after Apocalypse, without energies sources like electricity etc.
you need silver(can make medicine at least) or keyboard(for?)?  rclxub.gif

Cherry MX switch having gold inside, TROLOL. tongue.gif
BTW, I believe those collector valued things by it's aesthetics, designs and so on. Also, it is not like those collectors need or will ever plug their keyboards into computer and put it to use, LOL.

Erm, apart from the Cherry G80-5000 shown to you ytd, other not so top end collector items are probably some old vintage IBM Model M.
Of course those handcrafted wood/steel keyboards are probably counted too... whistling.gif

Some of them even go deeper till collecting old vintage Cherry branded keyboard.
http://keyboardporn.com/

Old and EOL rare keyboard accesseries such as casing and keycaps can also gone sky high the price... whistling.gif The Original Cherry Red DS Esc and RGB DS modifiers key are example of them...

EDITED: Just realise that you looking for keyboard collectors instead of collector keyboards. sweat.gif
They are pretty much of them in GH, Deskthority, OTD/KBDmania(those koreans are probably one of the craziest keyboard fanatic out there... almost all custom keyboards come from Korea...) and I believe quite a lot in Japan and China also.

something about Leopold FC700R, looks like i will have to wait for another few months sad.gif

I don't think it will be that long, most news from China stating that it will be coming around May.
Ok, saw it. The July is probably just an estimation by the TS, not from Leopold.

Choc Pro then. It came with PBT keycaps IIRC. Somemore many of it's parts(especially case) are Filco compatible, you can get a "ghetto" Filco with some mod, LOL...

Hey guys, I'm using Filco Majestouch 2 and one of my friends friend is going to korea to buy some mech keyboards. Can recommend me any good keycaps from korea that suits my filco? Thanks biggrin.gif
*
Korea isn't much known for the replacement keycaps(though, once in a time, they will have some, but you need a good/fast news and luck to land your hand on it). They are more known for custom stuffs like special PCB, casing, and a lot other misc and even custom keyboard(KMAC, Cheat, Phantom and lots more).
If you want to look for keycaps, you should look for it from US, China or Taiwan.
Known sites include Inpad/global.PChome/Armygroup for Taiwan, taobao for China and WASDkeyboard/SignaturePlastic(custom order, wait for group buy at geekhack) for US.

I'm just some 3rd party guy who wants to chip in money so they can help me  tongue.gif Nonetheless, thanks for helping. Might just wait and see if this thread has any group buys or not.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Currently in progress here.
http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?29132-N...ubleshot-Keyset

BTW, may be you can ask your friend to help you get some Korea only keyboard instead? Such as:
Leopold FC700R(not sure if older batch still having stock or not)
Milestone(CM Storm's rebrand, but with much less overbranding on it)

LOL, the "Malaysian's" Logic, the bigger the number, the better it is. tongue.gif
BTW, it is true for this case. FC700R is aimed to be a higher/premium keyboard than what FC200R offer. It is coming in default with PBT keycaps and some extra features.
Sadly, it isn't available now.
