Better use mobile odin pro to flash the tar file so that you get full root featurez
Google for this file in the thread : CF-Root-I9220_ZC_OZH_LP1-v5.2-CWM5.zip , unzip it to tar format

If you choose to flash the CWM zip - you will not be able to , say edit system files using root explorer

I tried flash CF kernel through CWM... didnt work!! reason state 'cannot find zimage' @.@ (am a noob lol)
so i went through the forum and followed the InitialCFrootflasher guide and succeeded. right now restoring my backup

need help here... in the blog i was asked to download CF-root kernel but i cant find about how to apply it...

i lurk into chainfire and got tutorial about using InitialRootFlasher...

now i wanna ask, am i doing it right? alrdy 15 minutes, InitialRootFlasher stuck as pushing zImage...

what shud i do now?

if my step was wrong, when shud i apply the CF-root kernel? btw now still at 2.3.5 stage, alrdy root wif zergrush... now stuck at this point..

USB debug enabled?
zimage file from CF-root Kernel paste into the zimage's folder from InitialCFrootFlasher?
did u choose the already rooted bat file?

edit: did u use the right CF-Kernel? (important)

still cannot..

eager for ics, but prefer the official, leaked one got 3 types of launcher... knda confusing

hello, can help me with this? currently at 2.3.5 stock rom stage.. alrdy root using zergrush and now stuck initialcfrootflasher.. stuck at pushing zImage.. no more progress...

just try downgrade my kernel(la1) to kk1...already launch odin n select the unzip file to .tar at pdf and hit start.....and waiting almost 1 hour...suddenly the green box turn to red said fail..now my phone cant restart..it say connect to recovery mode in kies...hurm....got suggestion how to overcome my problem?thanx....

Any1 facing problem like with USB cable able to detect phone from pc but not the contents?

been trying get in the recovery mode but also cant...still stuck at firmware upgrade encountered an issue....how can i get in the reovery mode now?

Sry for the late reply. to get in the recovery mode press vol up+power button+menu

im assuming this is your 1st rooting so its better u follow this guide.

before u flash CF kernel. Make sure that ther CF-Kernel is the same in your phone thus setting>about phone>
You will see a listing of all the files selected : kernel, system, data, modem etc etc

make sure that you download the appropriate Chainfire(CF) kernel file matching to the firmware you flashed at the beginning.

edit: read more in xda forum as for how to root your phone and better understanding. spend some time reading man. it wont harm you.
