Hi Tomjason Sifu,
I have been following your thread and noted you are very experienced in renovation stuffs. Appreciate it if you can please help to advice on below. Thank you.
My house is only 18 x 65 sq.ft. (I think) double story terrace with 10 feet land beside.
1) 1st photo - if I extend the back, how do I deal with the manhole (not sure what to call it? Sewage coverage?)? If contractor cover it up or cement it, will there be any problem later like maybe Indah Water want to access it to drain 'shits' from it?
2) 2nd photo - if I extend the back to double-story and side single-story (just the back), may I know roughly how much if I buy all the materials (I don't know the measurements)?
3) 2nd photo - if I deepen the drains (to have a better drainage) and use stone cover to cover them up, will it be very costly?
4) 2nd photo - the fence, I think is only 5 feet (standard allowed?), can I add maybe wooden planks on top of it to make it higher? Is that even allowed?

Hi bro,
TQ...
First of all, i would like to inform that the cement price has gone up to 10%.....

...this also will effect the reno price...
Below is my comment:
1) 1st photo - if I extend the back, how do I deal with the manhole (not sure what to call it? Sewage coverage?)? If contractor cover it up or cement it, will there be any problem later like maybe Indah Water want to access it to drain 'shits' from it?
Ans: you can use aluminium frame (for man hole, top can fill tile) to the replace the old steel frame man hole. DO NOT BUY steel frame as it rusted. The aluminium frame cost is about RM25 if i can remember, my house main holes all use these type (if you wan to put tile on in).
2) 2nd photo - if I extend the back to double-story and side single-story (just the back), may I know roughly how much if I buy all the materials (I don't know the measurements)?
Ans; i would assume you wan to do reno about 18x5 ft. Cost complete all (normal tile) about RM11K. If material only about RM5-RM6K.
3) 2nd photo - if I deepen the drains (to have a better drainage) and use stone cover to cover them up, will it be very costly?
Ans: why you want to deepen the drains. When reno time move the drains to under ground drains using 6 inches under ground PVC bigger than your existing drains.
4) 2nd photo - the fence, I think is only 5 feet (standard allowed?), can I add maybe wooden planks on top of it to make it higher? Is that even allowed?
Ans: First of all, who make the wall fence?...if you..than no problem just add it and before that tell your neighbour first. If you neighbour make the fence than you must discuss with them.

2) how do we get contacts for indon workers? I may have few walls to break down

3) in your opinion, do you think its advisable if we consider to do the tile removal ourselves? been researching a lot on tutorials on youtube. seems fairly straightforward to get it remove.
Cheers

Ans: yes no problem..can save you money..just buy rotary hammer or demolition hammer..good brand is Makita or bosch. You can use the tools when you want to DIY or to reno yourself.
