Yeah, flight delay happen everywhere.

Don't send your car ngam ngam. Send earlier because they need to inspect the car and clearance. After that you need to wait for the shuttle bus to the airport.

Actually you can book with the hostels you are staying for DMZ or Panmunjeom tour. They do pick up from hotel to hotel and drop us off at one of the subway in Seoul so that we can take the subway back to our hostel. You need to bring your passport to go to the border of North & South Korea (DMZ). They have different tour. DMZ tour is the basic half day tour, Panmunjeom, Joint Security Area or the combination of both. I still have the brochure but is in my bag. So lazy to take it out. Already late at nite. Some people said can go to DMZ by yourself but I do not want to take the risk because we are talking about the North Korean armies here. Better go with someone who are familiar with the place. We are allowed to use the binocular provided to see North Korea part. We also wen to the tunnel digged by the North Korean armies to infilrate South Korea. I forgot how many tunnels all together along the borders but if I am not mistaken 5 tunnels. They brought us to one of the tunnel. But pls take note, do not ever take pictures of the South Korean armies without their permission. They will confisticate your camera.

Suwon & Miryang also a nice place to go outside Seoul. Gyeonggi do & Gangwon provinces got so many places to go but not properly introduce by their tourism body.

Bbq pork are everywhere. The only difference is the price and whether the menu have any English indocation. If you mean BBq pork Buffet. Then, I dint recall any in my area. Sorry. Maybe you need to walk around and explore more.
Exactly...during my first 2days in Korea, Im aware of people around me fearing that they will rob you or something. But then I started to realised the friendliness. I start to loose myself. LOL. typical Malaysian here. Or probably watched too much of the movie TAKEN. :-) I did some awfully bad thing to my travel mates durimg the first 2day. Feel so bad. :-(
Nami Island is a definite place to go. If you are going during Autumn/spring then you are probably going to have a day of unimaginable of natural beauty. During my trip, it was all greens not much different. Lol. But still im contented with it.Also excellent for photo taking.

Err, apart from this you may try  on the military experience. The border line between North Korea and South Korea. The Panmunjeom tour. This requires a local tour. I'm sorry I can't provide any tour info i forget. You either Google or find some Korean friends to help.

I actually plan to go to Soraksan as well but we are limited time and it's a journey to go there from Seoul. So, we dint go for have a look or took some hiking. But my Korean friend recommend go there have a look. So it's up to you. That's all I know. If other place than Seoul. Maybe Busan and Jeju? that's what a typical tourist will go. Lol.

Most hotstel in Seoul sell this tour. You book via the hostel. The hostel will call the agent on behalf of you. I stayed in Nasmsan Guesthouse. I went April 2012 and the price was KRW46,000 per person. If you have 5 and more, they give discount. No need visa but you must bring your passport. The armies at the chk point need your passport for verication and identification. No passport, no entry. Pls becareful when you are in the observation area. They provide standing binocular for us to view North Korea area. But the binoculars on the left side rows are for South Korean armies usage not for public. The public can only use the right row of binoculars.

Which hostel u're staying in seoul that provide dmz tour? How much per person? How was it like? Any visa required?

Added on October 26, 2012, 2:16 pmI don't have any problem while I was in Korea. I learned basic Korean from K drama & used it during my visit there. A little bit of Korean, a little bit of English + sign language, everything was ok tongue.gif

QUOTE(dinodog_Jr @ Oct 26 2012, 07:50 AM)
95 percent Korean I met couldn't speak English. Better learn some basic , write down on paper.

Haha... Many of people's said its possible to travel by using English/mandarin. Maybe just me! Better learn some Korean seriously.

I even witness Ajassi forced a Malay to understand Korean language at the train station to nami island.

Remember how the pronounciation  for 1000 won , 2000 won, 3000 won and so on is helpful.

Even though the area call Seogwipo, but the area is huge. Trick Museum & the rest of the museum are not close to each other. Just keep in mind,Jeju is about as big as Singapore.

Yes dear not near. Jeju as big as Singapore. From West Jeju to East Jeju takes about 1 hour drive more or less. So u must pla your visit properly. Otherwise you will be spending your time in the car zigzagging west to east Jeju.

From Seogwipo area to Jeju town takes about at least 45 mnutes passing through Hallasan mountain. Day time is ok but nite time very eerie. Less lights and cars. Feels like I am in horror movie. If you plan your routing and itinerary properly, it is posssible but with 02 days only, you must select what you want to see. You can't see all.

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Nov 8 2012, 11:58 AM)
spend 1 day each on West to East enough to cover or nt? (will select few attractions)..

hw bout another side of the island? eg.. if i stay in seogwipo n wanna visit jeju (near airport) haf to turn a big round over to another side? i saw frm the map it gt route to go to d North (Jeju) frm Seogwipo bt is around Hallasan area.. nt sure the road will be easy or nt tongue.gif

You can drive at nite but just becareful on certain roads because not enough lighting. As per anachoic. Road in Jeju are way much better than in Malaysia. The only thing when u drive at nite on certain is not enough lighting. If you want to drive around to have fund, you can do so. If you have friends, no problem. I only feel like I was in horror movie due to the darkness and silent road. tongue.gif

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Nov 8 2012, 06:00 PM)
so any suggestion for driving at nite?? if at nite dy, if wanna drive bek to seogwipo hw oh?? need to take d long route right? cz as u mention mountain rd is very dark.. kinda dangerous

bout left side driving is nt a probs cz d 1 who driving is use to left side driving  biggrin.gif

I don't speak Mandarin and Cantonese at all. But I survived my 10 days Seoul and Jeju trip last April. You just need to go through the thread, get the subway/train map, chk what at the things you want to see. Most of the sightseeing places are reachable by train/subway. No need to join tourlah. Waste of money only. More cheaper to travel on your own.

I stay in Namsan 2. Near to Myeongdong subway station. Location is very very very convenient. You can use T Money for train and buy stuff from G Mart/7 Eleven. Is cheaper to use T Money rather than buy ticket everytime you board the train. ETA means estimate time arrival.

so which guest house do u stay? is it nearby any MRT around? the location is convenient? hows the train ticket will it be expensive or cheap?

T money you can buy at any GS Mart store or 7E. Reload also the same. Street food of course cheaper (but don't convert it to RM biggrin.gif ). I got my seafood fried rice for KRW5000 per bowl. Yes, portion was big. Should share it with my sisters instead of ordering 3 bowls.

QUOTE(Canopies @ Nov 26 2012, 02:50 PM)
thanks bro for your quick reply. appreciated.

where to get T-money then? how much did u reload it into? the food seems quite reasonable right? the portion is big even if pricing around rm30-50.

2 Days 1 Nite in Jeju?? Main as well you don't go. You will be exhausted. You need at least 2 nites in Jeju. 1 nite in Jeju u can see much.

In Seoul you can go the palaces, the hanoks, Namsan Tower, the stream, go to Hongik & Ehwa area (for young people), go to Nami Island, Petite France, Garden of The Morning Calm. Many more. Just read through this thread.

Your friend is absolutely wrong .Jeju is very beautiful during spring & autumn. Rugi lor stay for 1 nite. 1 nite stay you are going to rush here n there. You won't have enough time. Jeju size is as big as Singapore with so many things to see on the west coast & east coast. From west to east or vice versa take at least 1 hour drive. Very rushing if you stay 1 nite.

QUOTE(cherrypop @ Nov 27 2012, 11:58 AM)
really? haha. because my friend said i'm going during autumn so not much to see, thats why i ask. ya, i also want to know, say i go to jeju in the morning/afternoon, stay the night there and go back next day afternoon, is it enough time? i also want to go to busan. how long should i stay there? last time i was in korea i went to everland, so this time thought of going to lotte world. should i? i know i dont have much time there, so i'm trying to decide where should i go, maybe busan and jeju and skip lotte world?
