These are my connection status for 1mbps package:

Downstream Rate: 2048 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 512 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 31 db
Upstream Margin: 13 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 5
Upstream Line Attenuation: 1
Downstream Transmit Power: 12
Upstream Transmit Power: 8

The DSLAM is just at my downstairs (i'm staying in a flat). I always get 1600kbps+ for download and 400kbps+ for upload. thumbup.gif

Connection status:
Us Rate (Kbps) 1024
Ds Rate (Kbps) 3072
US Margin 13
DS Margin 31
Trained Modulation ADSL_G.dmt
LOS Errors 0
DS Line Attenuation 16
US Line Attenuation 9
Peak Cell Rate 2415 cells per sec
CRC Rx Fast 185
CRC Tx Fast 1
CRC Rx Interleaved 0
CRC Tx Interleaved 0
Path Mode Fast Path
DSL Statistics
Near End F4 Loop Back Count 0
Near End F5 Loop Back Count 0

Subscribing 1 mbps TMnet Streamyx and currently facing "regular" disconnection. I want to know why because as far as I can tell, my connection status is good (hell I get 3x Ds rate, COME ON?!?!?!?) so what gives here?

Anyone can enlighten me as to why my connection is so shitty right now?

that is what I wonder too. but from the formula calculated, it should be around ~2.5km from my house to the exchange. btw, any real picture of how does the DSLAM exchange look like? maybe I can roda roda around my area to search for it.

i'm staying in a flat. the DSLAM is just downstairs. the telephone lines from DSLAM to my house is just few hundred meters icon_rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

before the set up of the new DSLAM, my line was very bad (SNR margin <5, line attenuation >60), can't even support 1mb package. keep DC everyday. but after the residents here complaint for FEW YEARS, TM finally did something. now i managed to get 1.5mb speed on 1mb package. direct download speed can go up to 2mb.rclxm9.gif

so morale of the story is: gather your area screamyx users and keep complaining!!! nod.gif

try to use different modem and see whether is the modem problem. i'm using Linksys modem router too. so far very satisfied with it.

otherwise, keep calling screamyx and insist to have a technician to come over.

how far are you from exchange by the way?
