Yes. Tourist or Airport express card is like Octopus card. means taking MTR

Airport Express travel pass[U]
u can travel either 1 way or 2 way ride.
1 way ride (only 1 way airport express) plus 3 days unlimited MTR ride.
Original price is HKD220.
On9 purchase is HKD209
On9 purchase (using HSBC card) is HKD198
HKD50 refundable deposit if u return
Total spend HKD148 for the card if u purchase using HSBC card

2 way ride (2 way airport express) plus 3 days unlimited MTR ride.
Original price is HKD300.
On9 purchase is HKD285
On9 purchase (using HSBC card) is HKD270
HKD refundable deposit if u return
Total spend HKD220 for the card if u purchase using HSBC card

40% discount if u use HSBC to purchase other type of card (Airport Express Single Journey / Round Trip Ticket)

if u purchase the Airport Express travel pass u r entitle to offer include Disneyland, Madame Tussauds, Sky100 observation. (when u redeem the card at the selected sales outlet, they will give u the coupon). u need to bring along the coupon to the place of interest u plan to visit in order for u to get the discount. means purchase on the spot. using the coupon can entitle u to:-

Disneyland (HKD40 off for 1-Day or HKD50 off 2-Day General Admission Ticket). on the spot u can either opt to pay using cash or credit card. but if u pay with Visa (any credit cards), u will get an extra HKD5 (1-Day Ticket) / HKD10 (2-Day Ticket) off.. tongue.gif

Madame Tussauds u will get HKD20 off on regular adult admission ticket and HKD10 off on regular concession admission ticket (max 4 tickets)

Sky100 observation u will only pay adult admission ticket at HKD100 (original price: HKD150)

OR

if u dunwan to spend on buying any Airport express or Tourist pass, u can opt to buy Octopus card. buy separate tourist attraction promo.

where is Kwong Lun?? it's Kwun Tong?

in the first place, which type of transportation u plan to take to ur hotel? which hotel u live in? my suggestion is if u travel alot on MTR, better get the Octopus card or Airport Express travel pass.

MTR is more convenient. if u plan to take MTR, u gt 2 option. use Octopus card and travel to the station nearby ur hotel OR use Airport Express travel pass to the station nearby ur hotel. u can make use of the free airport express shuttle as well tongue.gif it travel between HK or Kowloon station, major hotels n railway interchanges.

if ur hotel is far away or nt walking distance from the MTR station but is listed as the service area for the free shuttle bus, u can opt to sit the shuttle because it stop in front of the entrance of the hotel.

wow.. u live quite outskirt huh? >_<

for Charterhouse Causewaybay hotel, unfortunately the shuttle bus is nt in the listed area, bt u can take MTR to MTR Causeway Bay (walking distance around 5-7 mins)..

as for the Panda hotel cz it located in Tsuen Wan, i'm nt really sure bout transportation to airport. bt traveling to downtown HK n TST, is nt a probs for u as ur hotel provide complimentary shuttle bus to some MTR station.. u gotta check wif ur hotel bout tat.

u can choose any transportation tat is convenient to u.. bt if u dun wanna spend so much on transportation, MTR n buses is the best choice

airport express card can be topup after the 3rd day of unlimited ride.. after top up.. jz like the octopus card. u can get bek the refund plus the deposit..

T&C:

7. The Pass may be kept as a souvenir after use or returned to any Airport Express Customer Service Centre for the HK$50 refundable deposit and any remaining added stored value(3)
8. Value can be added to the Pass at any time to pay for travel on other transport or travel on days outside the 3 days free MTR travel or for use at locations displaying the Octopus logo.

(3)Refund of the deposit is subject to the deduction of any negative value or payment for damage to the Pass. If the remaining value stored on the Pass exceeds HK$500, it will be returned to the MTR Headquarters for processing. Customers may be required to cover any charges this may incur.

it jz work like the normal octopus card..

all u need is to survey or read more info of ur travel destination.. all stated on their website..

just went to matta fair. do you guys think travel with agency is cheaper or plan a trip myself cheaper?

planning is really a headache task, especially when u meet with unforeseen situation where you need to waste extra $. going with travel agency save you time to plan but does it cost you more???

Depends u are planning for small or large group. If large group just take tours

However the disadvantage would be tours usually will take you to those factories to buy jeweleries, herbs or chinese medicine etc etc wish is really waste of time.

Self plan can suit all your needs/interest, for eg i dont like going temples so i can cut out all the temples.

If u really put in effort to plan, then i think unforeseen situation can minimized however still better than going to places that i dont like and waste time. IMO.
