Hi all,

Thought of opening a thread about WC...

Has anyone used Johnson Suisse Como before? Price look really affordable...

main concerns are :-

1) is the flush powerful enough?
2) looking for one that has very little chance of getting stucked

Do share your toilet "bowls" and photos smile.gif

Have used Johnson Suisse WC and find that their flush down function is not that strong. Usually you'll have to flush twice. This makes having a pump vital as you don't want to wait too long to flush again.

Premtex WC flush down function doesn't look that strong either but will have to actually try before I can give a more accurate feedback.

Try not to get the syphonic system as its usually not as good as flush down. And you literally don't want to see crap swirling around in the event of blockage.

There are basically 2 types:

wash-down - water gush down from the cistern by gravity
- greater force but noisy
syphonic - wash drawn into wc by suction
- less force but quiet
Then, there is the push-button and the level handle. The former has more problems.

To save water, there is the dual-flush system where you have a choice between a full-flush and a half-flush to save water.

There are pros and cons, it's a matter of individual preference.

Syphonic usually use in place where noise level is concern. Like Hotel.

Dual flush system, my previous experience it get jam / faulty faster because more mechanism inside. Hope the newer and modern version solve the problem.

Don't get the China unknown brand. Do you know in China they don't throw toilet paper inside WC. And in Malaysian and many place usually throw toilet paper inside WC. This sometime cause the China made WC to overflow and clog.

sometimes you have no choice. i suggest you remove the current one and see what kind of measurement it is. Some are offset. Then you go shopping for the right one that will fit your existing lobang

BTW I like to tumpang ask this WC question - if I want to totally remove one (in a condo enviroment) is there a professional & safe way to seal off the pipe on the floor? I dont want any overflow later on to come back up once I cement and tiled it. Is there like a end cap that will fit the pipe?

Ah, I don't know which one is which. I have 2 difference model of JS. One model 2 units on the first floor, another cheaper model on the ground floor.

The ground floor model, I got to press longer for longer flush. If just press one second, it will do small flush.

So far all JS running ok. I am not running public toilet so OK lah.

Some models have small cistern and are designed to save water, so the flush is not VERY POWERFUL. Unless u throw a lot tissue, it will need to flush 2 times to clear everything. Otherwise, one time is enough d.

If u wan powerful flush, i would recommend u to get Johnson Suisse Ancona or Como.

Orin is China made. Not sure about quality.

Imagine you have a wash-down w.c. and you go to the toilet to use it in the middle of the night while your partner is sleeping. The noise can be a bother.
For home use, you don't need the flush to be so powerful, unless your 'chocolate' is so sticky that it's difficult to wash off. tongue.gif

My new house is installed with 3 units of JS Como. So far so good. No problem in flushing.
And it's good for small toilet due to it's size.

Actually, there was only the wash-down system in the old days.
Then the syphonic system came in to the market due to demand for a quieter flushing system. wink.gif

Anyone used "Cotto" brand w.c.?

It is a Japanese-Thai company (related to the famous' Toto' brand) but made in Thailand.

The fittings are quite stylish.

Save water, but need to flush twice. That even used up more water.

Especially when eat too much fiber, the poo is floating very hard to flush away.

looks like most of the hardware shop is having sales now. there are many brand of 1 piece WC selling at around RM450 now, which are much more cheaper than JS 1 piece WC. should be local or china made, quality wise don't know lah. tongue.gif
Toto and American Standard most expensive, JS sits at the middle.

I have been using inax for 13 years (direct from developer) and so far, never had any issue with the floats nor stuck toilet.

It's good old direct flush.

My parent home which just renovate, those fancy looking flush is so weak and u can still see your dump floating after one flush. Crap !!! Need to flush multiple times.

You/the plumber need to have access to the cistern for maintenance all the time.

Concealed cistern is used in big buildings where there is a plumbing duct (for cistern, pipings, etc) which is through a separate door like a room. Not for a house.

I just drop by to Builders Hardware yesterday (Thursday) on my way back to hometown after seminar.. getting watercloset and basins.. before that I already drop by at one of the famous hardware centre in Puchong Utama.. but in terms of pricing, service and so on.. BH wins that all..

However I'm upset.. because I can't buy everything I need at BH.. my car too small.. and for sure I will come again.. and I'm not sure whether there is already person like me before because I'm not staying in Klang Valley.. I'm from East Coast... Kelantan..

I will recommended BH for my friends..

Hi All,
Need advise.

My inno toilet tank water is leaking into the bowl,
the flush system is center push type,
I dont think I could replace the flapper/valve easily (the plastics looked fragile)

is it possible to replace the water tank only ???

You mean replace the whole water tank include the flush mechanism?

Ain't it more expensive compare a plumber+parts cost?

Hmm isn't it more expensive if it's a 1 piece WC than a coupled WC?

I mean with one piece WC, it's a whole thing correct? so if cistern leaking or something, it's more expensive than a 2 pc WC?

That depend what kind of leaking. If the whole WC is replace, that is a serious crack leaking. Sure it is more expensive than 2pcs type.

From nomoredfox question, it seems like water is leaking out to the bow from the flush mechanism. So it is probably the rubber seal or anything.

So is he want to replace the whole tank just because the seal flush problem?

If it is the center push type, I think you can just replace the entire plastic flush assembly, if you can find one that fits. Seen a lot of them at big hardware shops. But they are all 'standard' size, if yours is a designer non-standard type, may have to go back to agent to buy.

Just unscrew the whole thing out of the tank, and run around see if someone can sell you one.

Before that, you may want to try this -
Look into the water cistern
right at the bottom of the center flush assembly, where it connects to the bowl, you will see a piece of black rubber washer.
Remove the entire flush assembly, it should be just a twist n pull action needed.
Then clean the piece of rubber washer and fit back the flush assembly.
Usually there is dirt gathered below the washer, causing water to leak into the bowl.

Oic. Best is to get a plumber to take a look easier. Hard to ascertain what's the real issue

I did call and paid plumber too .. but after few weeks .. same thg again... (they did not change the flush system..just some adjustment)

OK...i try to disassemble the whole flush unit n see

In condo/apartment you may not be an relocated, cause due to PVC went pipe can't relocated then your Wc cannot move to other place... For that pipe is sharing whole building from roof top to ground... Anyway even buy new toilet bowl also have to measure that distance from wall to S-Pipe of internal center from toilet bowl.

In the market have 2 size only (150mm or 200mm max then the rest need to used adaptor)

Bigger size of toilet, does not an issue, some swing door can't fixe and go with bi-fold type.. I think don't have much choice to stick back with smaller size of toilet blow only

guys,

need to ask something.

during renovation time, when the contractor actually change your WC/install a new WC, do you actually allow them to use it since they need to do their business while renovating your house?

If you don't allow, then what do you do? Where are they gonna do their business? I've been pondering on this ever since my renovation started.

no kidding man. But I don't want them to "open ceremony" my NEW WC before me wor? HOW?! But then again, while they are renovating, surely need to let go once in a while. I can't be getting them a potty right? rclxub.gif

I have 2 bathroom. One has started renovating. The other is pending because according to the workers, they need to use it. So once they are done renovating the first bathroom and moving to the 2nd one, surely they'll have to use the 1st one with the newly installed WC. howwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww? rclxub.gif

Must leave one WC for them to use. You can leave the last toilet WC to change. When I did my renovation, my contractor fix the old WC in the ground floor temporary for them to use, when almost done he fix it with the new WC, and they still use it. Treat everyone equal please, if you don't treat them equal they will treat you the other way too.

That's why this is bothering me. Is not that I don't wanna let them answer their nature call tongue.gif . But I dont know what or how to deal with this. Just felt abit sad cos other people get to use my NEW WC before me cry.gif Like beating the purpose of installing a new one.

So your suggestion is, when the workers are done renovating my 1st bath, tell them to install the OLD WC first temporary so that they can use it while they are renovating the 2nd bath? Once the 2nd bath is done + NEW WC, they can do their business there since it's a common bathroom?

ps: noticed that guys always kencing meleleh everywhere - hence why I'm not quite happy that this will happen to my new WC sad.gif

No la. I understand some Chinese really pantang about "new" thing 1.

Another example is the bed mattress. You don't allow somebody sleep on it first when you buy a new 1 right?

Unless, someone pass you a plumber within your area. Go to local DIY/hardware/bath and kitchen centre and ask them if they have contact for plumbers that are good and trustworthy. That's how I source for plumbing contacts and interview them.

if those tiles are 1 x 1 foot then the rough-in hole center should be 300mm from the wall.
the WC that you are going to choose should be 300mm with straight connector or you can have tolerance of +(25-50mm) with an offset connector.
change to those close coupled type WC, imo it's look much nicer than the existing 2 piece type but personally i don't like 1 piece WC. just my personal view. sweat.gif

Oh you want only the seat? try second hand market in LYF
Usually difficult to get. Normally will set the entire set, especially if it is the soft close type.
Try checking Houzdepot and see if they got sell separate.

Also, if in future need to replace any spare part, is it convenient for Orin?

Bravat do have lower end models which do not have easy clean glaze and the design to be honest is kinda ugly, my best seller is Moser Line it is value for money, not too expensive and has a good design.

with the easy clean glaze not to say totally wont stick but ezier to come off compared with normal glaze.

However, if u used strong chemicals to wash, it could damage the easy clean glaze

Hi, has anyone used Eurano toilet before? Comparing it to Econax by Johnson Suisse. Noted that Eurana is from china but i much prefer the size of Eurano over Econax. However, i am not sure if there is any issue with Eurano such as frequent clogging issue, flush not clean and etc. Anyone has experience using it? Thank you!
