There are basically 2 types:
wash-down - water gush down from the cistern by gravity - greater force but noisy syphonic - wash drawn into wc by suction - less force but quiet Then, there is the push-button and the level handle. The former has more problems.
To save water, there is the dual-flush system where you have a choice between a full-flush and a half-flush to save water.
There are pros and cons, it's a matter of individual preference.

QUOTE(skng03 @ Feb 15 2012, 11:57 AM) orin not so expensive nor cheap, good finishing compare to those no brand china made but don't buy the Syphonic one, wash down is good. Orin is China made. Not sure about quality. Imagine you have a wash-down w.c. and you go to the toilet to use it in the middle of the night while your partner is sleeping. The noise can be a bother. For home use, you don't need the flush to be so powerful, unless your 'chocolate' is so sticky that it's difficult to wash off. This post has been edited by tehtmc: Feb 15 2012, 12:32 PM

QUOTE(katijar @ Feb 16 2012, 10:18 AM) partner no wake up but the baby wake up... Actually, there was only the wash-down system in the old days. Then the syphonic system came in to the market due to demand for a quieter flushing system.

Anyone used "Cotto" brand w.c.?
It is a Japanese-Thai company (related to the famous' Toto' brand) but made in Thailand.
The fittings are quite stylish.
